Steve and Anita in Mallorca

Күн бұрын

Monday is market day in Manacor so we headed off to Palma to catch the train.
I have included some footage of the view from train wiondow.
Once we arrived in Manacor it was a fair walk to the market so we were ready for a cool drink as soon as we arrived.
Walking around the market we came across the church, with many closed doors, but evetually found our way in.
Lunch was tapas again, which we thoroughly enjoyed.
After the walk back to the station we needed another cold drink.
Thanks for watching.

What a gem of a video. We never visited Manacor in our Mallorca years. The guide books generally refer to it as an industrial, working town so we never got round to it. How wrong can they be! We started watching thinking it would make a change if nothing else then WOW. The church. Also the town prettier than expected. Our only reservation was your lunch, as interesting and lovely as usual, did look a little steep. Top of our list for next visit. Thanks both.

Love the video, and not only as a train enthiusiast :) The Palma underground Intermodal station - the buses are also there - was built in the mid 2000's. My visit to Manacor was in the last year of the old station in Palma with diesel trains, electrification of the line followed years after that. The tramlines from Palma to the airport and from Palma to Calvia via Palma Nova never made it past planning as the Balearics were hit by the financial crisis from 2008.......

The good thing about your videos is that it gives us an insight as to where to go when in Mallorca, it can get pretty boring staying in the same place for seven or more days and i do love to do day trips, is there such a thing as a weekly travel pass for transport and if so how much does it cost...
@SteveandAnitainMallorca
@SteveandAnitainMallorca 3 жыл бұрын
I am new to public transport! Anita has a card that she tops up and it makes her journeys into Palma very cheap. A problem is that there are different bus companies, so her card doesn't work on all routes. I'll have to do some research.

Question, why did you book single tickets there and singles back? is there a saving? why not return tickets...
@SteveandAnitainMallorca
@SteveandAnitainMallorca 3 жыл бұрын
No particular reason. It's 4.50 single or 9.00 return. The tickets are pretty flimsy, so me carrying it around all day, I would eithe lose it or damage the QR code.

Oh no not churches - defo not my thing, was chased out of the one on Monte Toro - Minorca back in 82/83'ish and more recently warned off Monte Toro itself in 2017/18. Will never venture in or near another church as long as I draw breath - not a believer in anything spiritual at all but on those 2 occasions something was not of this world giving me a warning / telling me I was not welcome.
