On rhcsa exam, do you know if they are asking you to modify an existing connection or add your own named connection with the dns,gw4,ip4 and netmask they provided because they never actually specify..

While, I can’t tell you exactly what happens on the exam, the notable objective you’re referring to is ‘configuring ipv4 and ipv6 addresses’ and the one about ‘hostname resolution’ so with that in mind, it does make sense to understand how to set/change a netmask, gateway, and ip in NetworkManager as well as to set/change DNS server list in NetworkManager for those two objectives, respectively. I also noticed you are referring to the nmcli connection options but please note that it is common and acceptable practice in general to use nmtui to configure connections and use nmcli for automation in scripts or special cases.
