Thanks bro! The Tekken 8 system encourages and rewards aggression so PKB is very solid as a strategy. It's against those that move well and backdash well out of the PKB stance that you should open up your gameplan more.

@kaeBR11 ай бұрын
Sick stuff, I've gotta start adding the low into PKB throw in my gameplan, it works so well once you know they're not going to duck. Since you like PKB a lot, I'm surprised you don't go for 2,1 after LNH1+2 instead of 2,2. Does slightly less damage but you get a PKB/FLK transition in their face and get to keep pressuring. I've been getting a lot of mileage out of that situation. Cheers!
@soulxcv11 ай бұрын
Interesting, I'm going to definitely try that out! 22 usually resets my 5050 situation but going into a cheeky PKB transition might be good. Cheers!

Keep grinding bro, you'll get to higher ranks in no time. Also I was really surprised I got a 15 streak at all! Azucenas are a nightmare to face right now and thankfully these ones do not spam wr32 over and over again in my face. Hardest fight was I think the Shaheen as he is fundamentally sound. Spamming PKB isn't going that well for me

I noticed, you go into peekabo after the 1,2,1 and it seems like a solid strat for you. May try it out. What peekabo strings do you use? Is there a way to quickly go into peekabo after your 121 string?
@alphagamer081211 ай бұрын
Buddy by holding f after 1,2,1 Steve goes in pkb stance. If u hold b he will go in flicker stance!! You can do pkb 2 to bait counterhit or punch parry. Plus it's homing move as well as safe on block but it's high move. U can try pkb 1,2. It's high high safe on block. Or d1 which comes a comes at 15 frames. Give +2 on hit so u can continue pressure. Or do df1,2 again 15 frames mid high. Safe on block. Mix it up with df 1,1,2,1 to catch guys who duck second hit and try to punish. It's mid mid mid mid! Good luck
@soulxcv11 ай бұрын
It's very solid as PKB offense is "sticky", with no risk at all. You autoblock mids and highs, your strings are all safe, the low gives +frames, high homing CH tool, mid CH string, if I can live in PKB during the fight, I will. Hope this strat works for you buddy!

Watching Steve gameplay is so satisfying, I'm completely new to Tekken (I've commented on a couple videos before lol) but man he seems so hard to play. Is it like starting a race but starting a few hundred feet behind every other person? I've heard he's not in the best spot. I started playing Feng and neutral game seems so much easier with him than Steve, and the execution is nowhere near as hard. I've also heard that learning the game fundamentals with a different character might be easier then swapping to Steve later once I get comfortable with the game itself. Thoughts on that? He looks so damn fun and satisfying but the entry barrier seems very high. I only dabbled for a little bit with him and was struggling mightily (probably because I'm a complete noob though).
@soulxcv11 ай бұрын
Feng's neutral game is very easy because his entire character revolves around being the god of neutral but quite bad at other things. (Not so much anymore since T7, they pretty much made him god of neutral and good in all things). Now I am not discrediting Feng, but what I am saying is that he is going to ease you well into the mechanics of Tekken 8 because he does all things and he does all things well. So I say he is a really solid choice for a beginner. As for Steve, he is a counter hit god and his character schtick revolves around some evasion, a little bit of frustrating and baiting the enemy, and countering hitting them for massive amounts of damage. He is not quite good at other things. But the problem is, it is hard to find counter hits when you don't know what you are looking for in the first place. It can take hundreds of hours to familiarize yourself with character animations and studying frame data, and taking Steve as a main going into T8 will make it a harder journey for you. My suggestion? For now take someone else as a main. If you play and enjoy Feng, go for it! Grind ranks and put wins under your belt with him. But if you also find Steve fun, take him as a sub. Maybe learn a few moves and combos, play him when Feng bores you, or maybe play him when you're with friends so it's just a fun time without any pressure. As time goes by and you get better at the game, you can decide to use him as your main. That's what I did in T7, cheers!

@@soulxcv Just gonna keep rolling out with Steve. I'll get dumped on for a LONG time but I just like boxing too much. Once it starts to click it's gonna be so god damn satisfying I know it. Just going from Feng's neutral options to Steve's is a kick in the nuts so far but that's to be expected I guess. Will definitely be following the channel! Thanks for the in depth reply too! Subbed!

How you get some many players that dont duck steves 121 or 21 strings?
@soulxcv11 ай бұрын
What I notice a lot is that these players (ESPECIALLY that Victor and King) were only focused on running their gameplan and nothing else. They didn't mind to defend or learn their enemy. They just want their flowchart to start ASAP and hope they get wins off. I used this to my advantage.

what’s your go to string when you sidewalk all the way around and have their back?
@soulxcv11 ай бұрын
The correct one is 21f, then PKB uf2 for a full launch. But I have thousands of hours of T7 muscle memory in me which makes me do 21f, then PKB 121 into a mix between a grab or a PKB uf2 launch. I think the mix is gone in this game because there seems to be a huge pushback, but my muscle memory is too stubborn 😅

@soulxcv11 ай бұрын
Tekken 8 is a very aggressive game. And Steve has the perfect tool for that. PKB stance autoblocks highs and mids and have great frames overall. If you can get close with wr2, start peppering down their HP with PKB offense and you'll win. As great a tool as B1 is, it's not as crucial as people make it out to be. At least in the lower levels.
@Celerity_11 ай бұрын
how do u properly punish aggresive opponents with steve
@soulxcv11 ай бұрын
A lot of that comes down to knowing the matchup through time, and proper movement. If the opponent's offense is sticky like Hwoarang, you can interrupt it with dickjabs, or if you have a solid read, you can duck and punish them when they do highs. The moment you get your punish in is the moment you step on the gas and never let go. Pressure them nonstop and try to keep your plus frames as much as possible for the fight. But as for opponents whose offense is a lot of poking and dashing forward to you or frame trapping you, B1 is your answer. As for opponents that rely on 50/50s for their offense like Kazuya or D.Jin, you have to jab and df1 a lot to keep them in check.

It triggers me that people that are not 1 punch away from death dont rageart aftet steve uses his heat smash, he is forced into lionheart which can not defend or get out, i havent tested it yet but you can probably instantly cancel it with a 3 or 4 and then defend, but 9/10 times they do the mid or the high so why doesnt anyone rage arts after yhe heatsmash 😂
@soulxcv11 ай бұрын
The mid is safe against Rage Arts. If they're in rage, you wanna play the LIH mid for safety because if they're mashing RA it will not come out and they will eat the mid instead. Which is a lifesaver because forcing Steve into LIH on a blocked heat smash kinda sucks tbh 😆

A lot of them are PKB strings. Forward 3+4 goes into stance, 1 2 is a natural high string, 1+2 is a throw, down 1 is a low, df11 is a mid mid string. I have this if you're interested kzbin.info/www/bejne/hWfCgqqEiJKajacsi=oWiqIEcHvEsFB5Py
