I have the ITM and now halfway complete with my MBA. They both set you up to be a dual-purpose (Business/Tech) threat. You will go from the OSI model to SWOT' analysis at a drop of a hat.

I guess ITM is management focused while MIS is technology (systems that drive management information) focused

Is this what you got from the video?
@hakinadedeji11 ай бұрын
@@ElevateToTheUnknown No, it's just an intelligent guess. I had a graduate degree in IT and I know that nomenclatures in IT are often bogus and heavily overlapping, e. g. Software Development and Software Engineering but as someone who was a professional in Standard nomenclatures, I can make near precise guesses from names and terms
@z08562710 ай бұрын
It's actually the opposite. I work for a university that offers both MISM & MITM. MITM is more Technology focused, while MISM is Management focused.

Hey Antoine, thanks! Just curious, if I graduate at a later age, there's no stigma right? Employers don't care about your age? There's always opportunities to make bank when you're older? Thanks bro!

Hey Patman, Employers don't care about your age. Just get it done so that more opportunities in life will come to you. Cheers my friend.

I was thinking of taking a double major in accounting and business analytics, and a minor in IT management. Do you think the minor is worth it or should I just stick with the double major?
@ElevateToTheUnknown Жыл бұрын
If you can handle it. Yes the minor matters as you will have more opportunities and more knowledge because of it.

Question, does it matter if you get a Bachelor’s of Science or a Bachelor’s of Business Administration in Information Systems I know that one is more of a STEM degree than the other but is that something that hiring managers will be looking out on ?
@ElevateToTheUnknown Жыл бұрын
No they won't be looking for that.

Hi so my associates degree is associates of science in business administration. And for my bachelors I am choosing to do BBA in information systems. At my new school it’s called Information systems and technology. So would my new bachelors degree be considered information systems and IT? both IS & IT combined? Because the courses I’ll be taking are like cyber security and one programming course with python and SQL. Also isn’t CIS basically the same as MIS and even information systems in general?
@ElevateToTheUnknown Жыл бұрын
Your new bachelor's sounds like IS which is IS&IT. CIS and MIS is similar. CIS has more technical classes where as MIS has more business classes.

I'm wondering if this is a good degree for someone trying to go into Tech Sales. So my particular situation is, I'm transitioning out of the military, and theres actually a skill bridge program for tech sales i plan on doing, I have two IT certs, comptia A+ and Google IT support specialist cert, but my goal is to go the tech sales route, not help desk. I want to get a WGU degree to make myself more marketable, but im unsure which one would benefit my sales career the most, any advice?
@ElevateToTheUnknown Жыл бұрын
A degree in MIS/ITM won't help you out in a sales career but it will make you more marketable for many opportunities including sales. When looking to get into sales consider course careers, higher levels and Leveld Careers to learn sales. Hope this helps
@FigFirearms Жыл бұрын
@@ElevateToTheUnknown Helps immensely, I know there's no direct correlation between this degree and sales skills, but my instinct was that it might make me more marketable and look good on a resume, which you confirmed, thank you sir 🙏

Unrelated from this video, but I came upon this channel maybe a year ago, I have since completed the technology sales course on course careers and im also finishing up my computer science degree this December! I am trying to go right into 'Sales Engineering', with my degree and course careers, is that possible to go right into it? Thanks!

Yes as a junior sales engineer. I hope you have gotten some experience though.

Is there university that offer MIS and BIT at the same time? Hard to find since they are similar.
@ElevateToTheUnknown Жыл бұрын
If there was a program which would you choose? BIT and MIS are the same so why would a university offer both?
@stevejohns3410 Жыл бұрын
At first I was going to major in MIS but move out of state and the university I went didn’t have MIS but BIT. I noticed minor difference in curriculum but most part are same.

You'll develop an interest once you take a few classes and then commit to that. In the meantime you will need to research fields that you have an interest in and talk to people in those fields.
