You know I actually live in the town this was in. The guy ended up selling the hotel. But it's actually for the best sense he takes no care for the Hotel and the people who bought it want to bring it back to the good days. It's also a historical building. An overall guy is an asshole and only has the Hotel and money he does cause he married some old lady who passed away and he got most of her stuff. 6/22/18 3:31AM Edit: So with the new Owners came a Multi-Million dollar makeover. Sound good right? Well, then you get Into the fact that It turns out the new chef actually had a warrant out for his arrest for something like child molestation. He had a warrant out for his Arrest and yet he still posed for a picture for the Daily Newspaper. No wonder why the Police found him. There Is still lots of things that haven't been repaired In Decades even after the Multi-Million-Dollar makeover. I can't say much on the new Decor but It seems to have mixed reviews. The food I've heard from some Is even worse than before Gordon came. Sad part Is that It's still going better than Previously. Keep In mind that This Is just what I've heard around the city and ever actually saw the newspaper or anything. But where there's smoke there's fire. Now you may be asking, What happened to the previous owners??? Well, a whole ton of shit that's what. Phillip Is the dude's name and he's now the former owner. Phillips got Into another DUI and Hit & Run charges after his public embarrassment the day of the shooting for this episode. He reared ended a Black Sudan. He got out of the vehicle and nonchalantly walked Into his Hotel. The Area of the Hotel Is a real hotspot for traffic and accidents to happen. So there Is usually always a Police Officer In the area. But one of them saw the entire thing happen and walked In after Phillip and arrested him. A direct quote from our local Newspaper "According to police, Lovingfoss on Monday was in a black SUV that rear-ended a midsized Ford Sedan. Lovingfoss, according to police, got out of his vehicle, brushed past several people and entered the hotel. An officer went inside and arrested him on DUI and hit-and-run allegations, Sgt. Dixie Wells said. Officers subjected Lovingfoss to a blood-alcohol breath test, but Wells declined to reveal the results. Lovingfoss was cooperative and uninjured. A woman in the Ford complained of head pain and planned to take herself to the hospital later to be checked out, Wells said." So he actually got out of his vehicle after a DUI and went Into his business like he has a report to file on Monday. I love Imagining what the Police officer must've been thinking. But wait! There's more! Phillips was sent to Prison later on when he made death Threats too a Judge and his family. He had to spend 90 days In Prison and I believe take Anger Management classes but I'm not sure on the last part. Overall, Phillip Is kind of an Interesting story. Only ever got rich and a couple properties ( Monticello Hotel Included) from marrying some poor old women and inherited her wealth after she passed. Obviously, with him having no actual abilities, That money will start drying up with little other Income and this dude and his wife's spending. Don't think this dude has got to be somewhat successful. He'd never be able to have all the property and money If he didn't take advantage of the old lady.

I tell you, Gordon Ramsay is good, and he is necessary not just in cooking, this guy seems like a good counselor in general. I know many situations in business, personal and societal life that could benefit from his input. I appreciate his level of scrutiny in restaurants, they need to take quality complaints seriously from the customer. I hate when you can't ask for the ingredients list of a dish on a restaurant, people with health conditions that cannot eat certain ingredients should not feel guilty or like they are being annoying for wanting to know exactly what is in something, even McDonalds has ingredients list FFS. If garbage like McDonalds has that, all restaurants should. Customers hate to run into a restaurant with an adversarial nature.

Update on this hotel In January 2014, the lounge and restaurant in the hotel was closed by the owners so they could pursue other endeavours. Philip was sentenced to 90 days in prison in July 2016 for threatening a District Court judge. It appears that Philip is no longer the owner as of early 2017 and the new owners have recruited new staff. Monticello Hotel closed in August 2019 and was converted in studio apartments promoting communal living with shared facilities.

That is so sad and true. If he were to get into a car accident the bar tender is liable by law and can be prosecuted here depending on where he cut him off. That is disgraceful to put that kind of danger/threat onto your own employee. And he said it too, that he doesn’t have money for a lawyer so his carelessness could ruin his own life.
