In this video we discuss applying Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) for children diagnosed on the autism spectrum. Join us as we explore whether HBOT is appropriate for these children and what a typical protocol might look like. We discuss the types of pressures, percentages of oxygen, and the potential benefits one might expect when utilizing HBOT with children on the autism spectrum.
Please note that while HBOT is not a cure or treatment for autism, many parents have reported noticeable benefits in managing their child's symptoms and overall well-being. We emphasize the importance of understanding that applying therapies off-label requires careful consideration and appropriate decision-making.
Throughout the video, we provide valuable insights into the pathophysiology of autism and the mechanisms of action of HBOT. We explore the connection between reduced perfusion in specific brain areas, chronic inflammation, and the gut-brain balance seen in individuals on the autism spectrum. Discover how HBOT can potentially alleviate some of these issues and contribute to symptom management.
Parents often report improvements in language skills (in both expressive and receptive language) , socialization, behaviors, and even sleep patterns after incorporating HBOT into their child's autism management plan. While we avoid making claims of treating autism, we acknowledge the positive changes reported by families and continue to offer HBOT as an option for those seeking relief.
When it comes to the appropriate protocol for HBOT in autism, there is a wide range of therapy potentials. We discuss different pressure levels and oxygen percentages that have shown benefits, ranging from mild pressures at 1.3 atmospheres using air only to 1.5 atmospheres with 100% oxygen. It's crucial to consult with trained professionals who can guide you through the therapy and design a personalized protocol based on your child's needs.
Join us in this discussion as we address the appropriateness of applying HBOT for children on the autism spectrum. Gain insights into the potential benefits and learn about the range of protocols available. Empower yourself with knowledge to make informed decisions regarding alternative approaches for autism management.

The benefits we saw for our 4-year-old diagnosed with Autism are increased eye contact, being more social, decreased bloating, and greatly improved receptive language. We did 80 hours within 3 months in a hard chamber. We have tried many biomedical interventions, and HBOT was the only thing where we could really see gains. Thanks for putting this information out here.

@ivonnem3350 where did you do it? I am a mother of a 4.5y old boy with genetic disorder/cerebral palsy & autism and I have hope in this treatment but in my country it is too expensive and not very accessible.

Dr. how effective would it be to add an oxygen concentrator to 1.3 ata. If mask is worn wouldnt it be close to 93% oxygen? Also if child wont wear mask or canula would adding a concentrator be more effective? what would be oxygen percentage with no mask 28%? thank you Dr.

Good Question! 😊 In order to desensitize someone you would need to periodically put the mask or canula on them for brief time periods throughout the day. Don't announce it or say ... We are doing this (I made that mistake - lol) Lots of gentle praise. I would wear it too so they can see it isn't scary. Good luck!

With my HBOT chamber ( residential version) I would try with children to help them: Eye dancing issue, autism issue. My friend was healed very well for his hyper thyroid
