This is the third of three episodes featuring autism expert and polymath Dr. Manuel Casanova. In conversation with host Jill Escher, he discusses Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS), how he originated the research on TMS with respect to autism, how the treatment can help patients in certain respects (some are surprising!), the limits of TMS when it comes to severe autism, and what you might consider if you're interested in a trial for your loved one.

As someone in the neurodiversity movement I agree with trying this over ABA maybe we can all meet on this in the middle.

Maybe because he says that it does not make a non verbal child talk even though there are other benefits.

I would take a loan and do it - with his quality of life improving , it will cost you less on the long run , just go for it , your son's well-being is priceless.

@@SPARTANTRAD3S Outside of the United States there might be , however the trips, hotel, etc you have to calculate all this and see the cost , might be better to do it here.

@@MarinnaK.-CozinhaEgipcia-ud5ir Im referring in the US. Specifically in California. Im currently working on a project to help spread awareness of early intervention and treatment of autism. rTMS+neurofeedback being one of them. My son receives this treatment every summer.

I have aspergers, real aspergers, that is, clinical, disorder level, full-blown, global, developmental disability level aspergers. My mental functioning is all around fcking abysmal. I am desperate for something that will alleviate the aspergic symptoms and the inseperable, part and parcel comorbidities and make me less autsitic and thus smarter and more competant and superior to how I am now.

This video made me super sad. To have my bubble burst. Thinking that this treatment would help my grandson....at least I know not to give the $10,000 that I was saving up.......

Why? He said he had great results. I think TMS can be a treatment for mental disorders.
