Isn’t it amazing how much more fun Sims 3 is to play than Sims 4? Sure, the build tools are awful and the Sims themselves look like potatoes, but the gameplay is just so much fun!

If you are on PC, there are mods to improve the graphics and the sims look a lot better with it. There are even mods to improve the lag.

I think the build tools arent awful unless switching directly from sims 4, but with constrainfloorelevation, moveobjects cheats and when you get used to the tools they-re ok, plus customising all the colours and textures of everything gives so many possibilities without the use of any mods at all. Its mainly annoying if you wanna redo something or move a room. For potato sims i believe you use an Nraas mod to increase the amount of sliders used in the game (it's easy, just a few clicks in game) then you can install as many custom sliders as you wish and they no longer look potato ish, mainly I fix the forward neck tilt, make their head smaller and neck smaller, make them slightly taller and install body sliders and then they look normal!

The only pro for building in the sims 4 is the roofs and the ability to pick up the house and move it around on the lot if you have to.

@@stevenalexander4721 well there are little things i love about ts4 too, such as the friezes (or however it's spelled LOL) the trims, the fact you can drag the foundation height be it a pool or deck or whatever, the platforms inside, the fact that you can place doors and windows more freely, the lighting, the RESIZING BUG that became a feature is sooo useful, and paired with Tmexs tool mod chefs kiss. Oh and being able to place objects on one surface then alt key drag them to wherever you want to clutter things up without omsp. curved walls are glitchy af and i hate them lol. If they'd included the colour wheel and textures it'd be perfection for me. However i have so much fun building in the sims 3, you can make something go from modern and slick to dirty and grungy or old, to funky and colourful with just one tool.

I just noticed that. No wonder none of the Sims get married in any town, ever. I think that is the key. Place an arch in a resort. Every town needs this. I can't figure out how to get my townies in my other towns to actively use boats either. I think it has something to do with having ports placed. Like Hidden Springs for example, that is one that deserves boats coming and going, passing by. Plus mermaids never swim in the ocean. Everyone has scales but they aren't actually active as mermaids.

You can buy a hotel for 0 simoleons, its on the beach. Also you improve the rating mostly not by decorations, but by: Cleaning! improving rooms (the bungalows) roomservice, Getting every type of food. Making everything (bars carts food bungalows) the highest quality. Its set to low by default (ALSO full shifts for everything) And gyms lol

Satch, the bungalo/tower is the "regular" rooms which is a rabbit hole, but then you have "vip" rooms which you hve to set by clicking on the door i and then those are the non-rabbit hole ones ❤ hope that helps

Hope you see this and it helps. It takes little time and makes the game run so much better❤ GET THE Smooth Patch by Lady Duchess and especially the ERRORTRAP (it turns of stuff, fixes routing, and other stuff that slows the game. These issues pile and make the save worse over time) + master controller by Nraas (in general, lots of mods by Nrass improve help lag) It helps! A lot!

Smooth patch ruined my whole game. After using it, all of my cc and store content disappeared along with custom worlds and didn't reappear even after removing it. I had to uninstall everything and lost all of my hard work.

@stevenalexander4721 You should always back up a game when making changes to game _data_ which Smooth Patch does. This is also very clearly warned when downloading her mod you should always do a game repair before downloading it. It changes a lot of things compared to other mods because it directly interferes with game data, which other mods don't. Im very sorry you lost that stuff, I miss my old stuff a ton. But it is a mod that's heavily warned on old saves 🤷‍♀️ You can't just expect that changing the game structure won't fuck up old saves. They are dependent on the structure you ran them with and opening on a new structure is likely going to fuck it up. Especially if you have a lot of custom stuff, which is very dependent on certain game structure.

I installed the smooth patch with no trouble, followed a guide, and had no issues afterwards. It was either a steam guide or reddit guide can't remember which exactly. And installing it was a godsend. Rarely ever got lag after following the guide. That was my experience with it.

Maybe you could review some of the graphical/reshaders for Sims 3. I've seen some impressive things and while the content is great, it could use some aesthetic tlc. Although, you need NRAAS if you don't.

All of the rooms are completely functional. if you click on each one it will provide you a number for the room you clicked on. If you want to go to a resort with your family have each sim you want to have a separate room to check in alone or whoever they’re sharing a room with. If you have 6 rooms made you can check in 1 sim to each room.

On a serious note, you should make more videos showing how much better the sims 3 is compared to the sims 4. I have a feeling most S4 players have not experienced getting what you pay for out of the sims 3. The sims 3 should be the expectation in regards to gameplay and expansion packs, not the S4 way of giving us the bare minimum and charging $40+ per pack. Still can't get over how much gameplay, CAS and Build/Buy mode out of the sims 3 expansion and game packs. One expansion in the sims 3 is equivalent to 3-4 expansion packs in the sims 4, its time to show S4 players how much gameplay and items we SHOULD be getting with each pack.

@@bjbhvhkvhi when it came out as 64-bit it came with a major bug for those playing on Mac. We can't use open water. Basically, sims can't go swimming which ruins this entire expansion pack... which is also my favourite. Hundreds of people complained about this and it's been two years without a word from EA. Super disappointed.

I went to Uni with my in game sister and went a second time after they both got husbands and applied for extra funds everyday and created meteor showers with group science project and left uni with over £200,000 .. reached level 10 science and got group science project as a reward and made so many meteor showers, we now own a houseboat, grocery store which I renamed tesco, cinema which I renamed odeon and bought the free resort today and it's the first proper build I've done as I hate building cos I'm so crap at it as my houses don't look realistic but kinda love our resort, the sister and husband are scientists and made a clone baby and plant sim baby, moved them out to their own place today and my remaining woman, husband and toddler bought the 500k mansion, we defo don't need a mansion anymore

It's crazy because I just barely started playing the Island Paradise expansion though I've had all of them for a decade. It was so laggy before, but somehow I am not experiencing a major lag this time. I have never been able to figure out how the resorts could be run. No idea it was this detailed either. I've never seen the option for one starter bungalow 🤔. Right now, I'm currently trying to work up scuba diving and finding more than one little uncharted island. I think I should have began my game in Epic Sim lifespan mode, instead of Long. The elites are already elderly, and Ariel Walsh the mermaid has moved away.. This game has way too many quests to complete before all townies die out. And, you most definitely need Celebrity mode turned on, which comes with Late Night. It definitely makes a difference in any game. I have a feeling that will enhance your profit and keep Sims visiting.

This expansion was my biggest clue to how bad sims 4 was gonna be. Its so broken that its barely playable and a modder had to make a mod to fix the sims pathing just so you wouldnt get freezes.

Also, for some odd reason I can NOT get my sims 3 to run AT ALL, and of course EA won't help me whatsoever no matter how many tickets I send in... if I'm even able to even SEND ONE in the first place without them forcing me into the whole "self help" section that's pure bulllaldjflkajdljsa.
