Managing Immunotherapy Side Effects - Part 1

The ultimate immunotherapy with zero side effects is a proper diet and exercise. That is the best way to keep cancer at bay. The newest, more expensive, and less desirable Immunotherapy (drugs) many times causes serious side effects which requires more intervention ... which has its own side effects ... And so goes the cycle of pharmaceutical drugs. More expensive ... more problems which compound into even more problems. Every doctor's visit should address and emphasize proper diet and exercise. I believe it should be malpractice not to ... because nutrition is the key to solving the sickness care crisis (not health care crisis). The medical profession must become educated on nutrition. (IMHO)

My side effects are crippling muscle agony, and l mean crippling where every movement is accompanied by a scream of pain, just trying to lift my arms is abject agony, walking impossible or even trying to stand is out of the question, accompany this with the worst uncontrollable diarrhoea unable to get to the toilet is beyond embarrassing - if this is the “fatigue” they are describing here l suggest the word fatigue is kinda being used loosely

Joseph, That sounds a lot more than fatigue. If you're not already, keep close communication with your oncology team, doc, nurses, techs. Also there are many online patient groups specific to treatments like immunotherapy groups on FB. You may get a better feeling about better options for side effect management or possible treatment break, or changes to discuss with your onc. Also a 2nd opinion from a major academic research center may have helpful input. I'm sorry you're going through this. best of luck, Janine
