I do not, would not and could not EVER have the patience to do what these officers do. I have enough trouble dealing with “normal” people on a daily basis.

I was on meth for three years it got so bad I was a walking skeleton I would steal anything I can get my hands on if it wasn't locked down and bolted down it was going to the dope man's house or the pawn shop I got caught stealing a big extension ladder in broad daylight from a local apartment complex where I live the owner of the ladder saw me take it and called the cops on me I was on the way to the pawn shop as I was walking the cops pulled up on me I got arrested went to jail. jail was the best rehab I could ever get because I couldn't leave and there wasn't any drugs in the jail I took it as God throwing me in time out to get another chance at life i have been sober since oct 2017

It takes an extreme amount of patience to work with drunks and my heart goes out to the officers that have to. Their irritating, loud, stubborn, asinine, and some times extremely dangerous to others and themselves. I know a lot about drunks I used to be one but thanks be to Almighty God I'm hitting 47yrs sober.

I imagine they're scared and have trouble concentrating on what is being said. Same thing happens with hospital patients, which is why it's a good idea in a hospital to have a relative there to listen.
