Wes, I love the fact that you are so open and honest when it comes to discussing your mental health. This channel has been my own therapy session and is my coping mechanism for when things get difficult. I think I can speak for all the subscribers when I say we are grateful you didn't give up boat life after 6 months - love you guys 😊😊

Loved this vlog, would love a narrowboat but daren’t make the move; anxiety holds me back every time. Your honesty about anxiety and depression helps me and no doubt others too. To see ordinary day in day out life on a narrowboat is really enjoyable and makes me want boat life more. Keep doing what you’re doing! Just need a job working from home and I’ll be on the cut in no time ❤

Great vlog as always 🥰 I find the 5-4-3-2-1 thing really useful when I'm trying to sleep but can't stop thinking about stuff 🤗 Rufus is so funny, bless him it is sooo annoying when you need to sneeze but can't 🤣❤️

This was such an important vlog with Wes talking around his mental health and mentioning the importance of having the adventure of trying a different lifestyle even if you decided its not for you. I feel that's just helped me after months to come to terms with my life decisions. Thank you both!

You made the best decision for yourself so that’s always the right one! ❤️❤️ There is nothing wrong with trying it out and not enjoying it. there’s also a couple who I(amy) follow called ‘Wild we roam’ they bought a sailboat, renovated it and everything and then after a short time sold it as it wasn’t for them and they felt they got what they needed out of the experience. We saw that and found reassurance and really respected it. and we respect you for your decision too! ☺️❤️

@@BoatTime thank you Amy! It's easy to feel a failure when you invest not just money but all your emotions and energy into something which didn't work out. And that's the importance of sharing experiences with each other to know we are not alone. I'll check the channel out, thank you 🥰

Wes, anxiety and depression affect so many people and talking about it helps so many people especially yourself. I use positive thinking to replace negative thoughts. Walking is a great way to stop and do something to break your mood. Keep going 🤓👍🏻

My mum passed in February and we lived together on a small farm for the past 6 years. She was my best friend and confidant. It's been really difficult between the grief, anxiety and some mild depression I appreciate not only your openness today but your channel in general it has been incredibly helpful in getting me out of my funk. Enjoying all the waterways with you... the nature and fun times has really been helpful especially being home sick the past few weeks. So big thanks for sharing your adventures! Even though dogs do need to walked in the worst of weather...(We get loads of ice and snow!) I find just feeling protected is everything in the world now that I am alone. Tessy is a small Shih Tzu, her bark is bigger than her bite 😉but dogs are a great source of security no matter where you live. I just love Rufus and Doops! ❤🍟chips for supper on this side of the pond!🐸 Cheers 💖

Wes, firstly may I say I hope you are doing well, for a bloke to talk about his mental health is a big deal, I have met a few male boaters with similar issues and it is good to chat to them, I keep being told I need a boat, and seeing the community and friendship on the canals I can see how this life would help my depression and stress, big hugs Wes ❤❤ hope you stay safe 👍

You guys are amazing putting out all this Vlogmas content. The episodes are so varied, but all equally entertaining. Credit to you for being so open about your mental wellbeing routine - something everyone should be more comfortable discussing. It was illuminating to hear the concrete exercises you go through to help stave off negativity. That made total sense and brought the subject to life in a relatable way. Thanks, and more power to you both!

Wes, can’t thank you enough for the 5 point sensory hack. My son has experienced a few meltdowns lately (just because of the hectic nature of the season playing up with his autism) and I suggested this system to him, instead of my cajoling him out of a spiral. He was well impressed (and positively enjoyed taking time out to do it). 💕 THANK YOU from us both! Zelda & Jake x
