The “money talk” happened pretty early in our relationship but we had A LOT more to discuss as husband and wife. We talk about how we budget our money, how we save and what sacrifices we had to make for each other when it came to finances - did Mikael really pay for Megan’s debt?
LOADED QUESTION OF THE WEEK:
Is it okay to hide big expenses from your partner rather than fight about it?

I really appreciate the laidback vibe and the openness in discussing money and the shame that comes with overspending. It's a cultural thing for us Filipinos not to discuss finances so openly kasi, "nakakahiya", or "bastos" pag-usapan in public, but I find that talking about it with such honesty and practicality is much more helpful than shying away from it. It seems I've found a new podcast to look forward to!

Like and subscribed. More relationship and financial podcasts please. My husband and I are only 2 years together and no baby yet, hopefully in the future but no pressure. Wow!!!! Mikael Daez. You are so articulate. I've watched most of podcasts and amaze ako sa diction and lawak ng vocabulary and the super masculine voice mo Mikael. I am more of Megan. I can't express myself to my partner like her. But you always express yourself the way I want to hear it. So smart. Nice couple.

Both my mum and partner's mum said never to share income together with my partner, this is due to previous bad experiences (I remember my parents fighting about money issues as a child). So it's very pleasing to hear a healthy and working relationship sharing two accounts for both savings and expenses! Thanks for the vid ^_^

my husband and I budget the same thing. He pays all the loans and bills while my paycheck goes in our savings. The only thing I pay are my credit card bills. I shoulder our food expenses and eating out and charge it to my credit card. it's a lot easier since we can easily track all our expenses.

Megan explained it clear and easy for everyone afraid of budgeting. It's cute how she made it into such a manageable small amount for everyone to easily grasp and understand. Tapos the way that they divided the amount into each sub-category is realistic too in terms of percentage. Thank you for such amazing informative content!!! We all need more of this in our lives.

And Fofo i noticed him through watching gma. Really surprised me that the two of you are being together for a long time and at a young age you really thought Bonez lots of things like managing money, etc. And so happy that i did able to run into your video... thank you so much for sharing this and it’s definitely an eye opener to all your followers. Solenn and Nico do the same thing! I remember watching one of Solenn's vlog (a long looong time ago) where she talked about how they manage their money (i.e. Both she and Nico spend their own money, then they have a separate account for house bills and other responsibilities). I think every couple should use this set up especially in this era where most couples have their own job and salary. Money makes people crazy. So this system reduces the stress and pressure on the relationship!
