Managing risk in projects (2022)

In this virtual keynote for the HERMES De Suisse annual symposium in June 2022, David Hillson presents current best practice for managing project risk, tackling Principles, Purpose and Process.
eco-HERMES (www.eco-hermes.ch) is the user group for the HERMES project management methodology (see www.hermes.admin.ch/en/projec..., which is used to manage all Swiss government projects. David closes this presentation by comparing the HERMES Manage Risk task with best practice and suggesting some areas for improvement.

Hi Dr, It would be very useful to know your views in the implementation of ESG. This is a hot topic now.

Hi Pablo. Yes, ESG is a hot topic and has taken over from GRC as the latest focus. It's not my specialist area, but I've been keeping track of it. The Institute of Risk Management (IRM) has an ESG special interest group (www.theirm.org/join-our-community/special-interest-groups/environmental-and-social-governance-esg-special-interest-group/) which has some useful resources.
