What is your opinion on WSOP - seems like lower hands beat out better hands. Is there some rule about hole cards versus what is shown on the table. What is your best recommendation(s) for sites for beginners?

As a recreational player, I have become enamored with WSOP tourneys. My local cash game is $1/2 and I'm a consistent winner. Only risk $300 at a sitting. Played a circuit event in February on vacation and cashed. Played another a few weeks ago targeting the $1700 Main Event and won a spot via a $250 Sat. Finished near the bubble. My modest bankroll is $5K and growing. Plenty of local games I avoid due to BM. My "shots" in the future will be targeted at a tourney every 3-4 months. I don't live near a casino, and I can generally replace/save over three months $2.5K directed for them.

2:57 wait what do you mean by aggressive vs conservative?
@BamaTidwell5 ай бұрын
The lower amount of buy-ins you have for a stake the more aggresive your BRM strategy is. Your risk of ruin is much higher carrying lower amount of buy-ins making it aggressive. ROR is there for lower with more buy-ins that can absorb downswings making it more conservative.

Hi. Thanks for great content. When I heard u say: "I am more of BR-nit, so I use around 40 buyins", I just realized how concervative I am with my BR. I have 27k and play mostly NL 200 and NL 100. I have solid numbers to verify that I crush NL 100, while being breakeven, and maby a slight loser at NL 200. I want to work on this aspect of poker, taking shots etc. What strategy would you recommend for me? The highest stake on my site is NL 400. I play 6-8 tables, only 6-max. Thanks a lot

This video has a big problem that most instructional videos on KZbin have and that’s assuming beginners already know something. You mentioned “buy-in” more than anything else in this video and I don’t even have any idea what a buy-in is.

Buy-in: the amount of money you buy into to play a poker game.
@StantTV4 жыл бұрын
@@MicroGrinderPokerSchool when you say 20 buy ins or 50 buy ins do you mean 20 or 50 big blinds or 20 or 50 actual buy ins as my assumption is that 1 buy in minimum would be approx (usually) 20 big blinds

He says "I'm a bit of a bankroll nit at 40 buy-ins". In 2024 that's called standard. I run 100x BRM for cash and 300 for MTT lol.

Thank so much, very informative even though ypu talk very fast, I was able to follow but not sure a novice can follow without "rewind" button fail... Great job though, you're an analyst! *not a speaker*

The terminology you use is for intermediate to advanced players. Most beginners cant understand this.

Hi Alton, thanks for the videos. Good stuff. Can I suggest a rapid dissolve transition between edits, it's less visually jarring than a jump cut.
@MicroGrinderPokerSchool7 жыл бұрын
You're welcome! I typically do transitions but didn't on this video...but will do in future videos using this talking head style video.
