***** and the other people asking about what happens if you don't get the kill after dumping your library, you can still win without losing next turn when you can't draw. Here are some options: 1. As long as Flayer of the Hatebound is still on the board, you'll be able to do 16 damage when activate your Nether Shadows and Ichorids during your upkeep next turn since they all enter from your graveyard, killing your opponent. 2. You can use a card (Worldspine Wurm is a popular choice, but I like Hostility or Guile, any of the cheap lorwyn fatties) that goes back to your library when it "goes to your graveyard from anywhere." This buys you a turn because once you mill your whole library, it will eventually go back to the graveyard giving you a draw to swing with your zombies or do more silly graveyard stuff. (I actually run a single Grave-Shell Scarab to go with this, so I can dredge it on my upkeep next turn and keep doing that for as long as I keep getting the Scarab back into my graveyard (So, you dredge, hit your Wurm/Hostility/Whatever, it goes back to your library (which only contains it) and you can do that again during every upkeep until you get the win.) You also don't have to win strictly with Flayer damage, either. If your opponent removes the Flayer or stops you in some other way, you can reanimate a card (Flame-Kin Zealot is the usual choice) that gives your zombies and any other creatures on board haste and swing for lethal. The only issue here is you have to watch out about what you swing into, because if you kill any of your opponents creatures, you lose all of your bridge from belows (this doesn't matter much, because you're doing lethal damage, but it's good to know.) This is a good explanation of how this deck works!

Ethan Harris Some list still play Chancellor and some don't. In this video I was still using them, but this video is about 7 months old. I, like many other players, have switched to the newer Blue Manaless Dredge. You should check out that video. I recently took that list to an SCG Open trial going 3-0-1. My Draw was with lethal on the board. It is a solid list, but by far the most skill intensive variant of the Manaless archetype.

I use Worldspine Wurm in the sideboard for things like this. I bring it in for decks like Painters Servant. Even if I they force the mill and it's in hand I can just respond after by discarding it with Phantasmagorian. I can do that for at least two turns. It also does double duty against Sneak'N Show decks along side my Ashen Riders.

Seriously people, Google is your friend. Stock Manaless Dredge lists are all over the web. There have been some changes since 2013 so he may not even be running the same list any more. Here is my list, which doesn't run blue b/c I can't afford Force of Wills: Dredgers 4x Grave troll 4x Stinkweed 4x Thug 2x Shambling Shell (I tried cutting a Shell but had too many no-dredge hands, ugh.) Meat 4x Ichorid 3x Nether Shadow 4x Prized Amalgam 4x Narcomoeba (Yes, Amalgam is better than Shadow. Try it and see. As long as you sequence triggers carefully it's better than it looks. Plus it lives through Elesh Norn, which is important, and allows you to easily combo kill with Flayer even if Grave Troll already got Extirpated / Surgical Extracted.) Draw 4x Gitaxian Probe 4x Street Wraith Graveyard Active 4x Therapy 4x Dread Return 4x Bridge 4x Phantasmagorian Reanimation Package 1x Flayer 1x Balustrade Spy 1x Griselbrand Anti-Hate 4x Chancellor of the Annex Sideboard varies depending on what I expect to see. A green anti-hate package is common, consisting of Dryad Arbors, Land Grants, and possibly Nature's Claims or Reverent Silences to kill hate cards. Some hate cards are so strong that you're probably dead if they resolve, like Rest in Peace, which is why the blue package with Force has become so popular. Hope this helps.

Adam Hartman In game one it is generally ok to discard your whole hand as soon as possible. In game two and three I wouldn't advise so depending on what you are playing against. If they play a Tormod's Crypt, Relic of Progenitus, Bojuka Bog, or Nihil spellbomb you will loose your graveyard. Keeping as close to seven cards in your hand gives your opponent less time to capitalize before you start dredging again.
@lotuse2003
@lotuse2003 8 жыл бұрын
It's ok to flip all the cards at once for Dredge, but you're not allowed to re-arrange the cards in your graveyard without some additional effect. Except for 'some sanctioned tournaments'. At 3:58 you moved the Nether Shadow in order to make it activate, which isn't legal. 404.2. Each graveyard is kept in a single face-up pile. A player can examine the cards in any graveyard at any time but normally can’t change their order. Additional rules applying to sanctioned tournaments may allow a player to change the order of cards in his or her graveyard.
@tabletopmagic3386
@tabletopmagic3386 8 жыл бұрын
+lotuse2003 Read on one more rule. 404.3. If an effect or rule puts two or more cards into the same graveyard at the same time, the owner of those cards may arrange them in any order.

It is an option. Most Manaless builds have moved away from him in the last couple years. Sometimes Zealot isn't very good. If you loose a couple of your bridges early or don't have them Dredged yet he isn't going to do you very much good.

I'm a bit confused, what allows you to discard Phantasmagorian turn 1?
@tabletopmagic3386
@tabletopmagic3386 11 жыл бұрын
You always want to be on the draw. So your turn one (on the draw) you draw and then end your turn using your the Cleanup Step to discard to seven cards with out playing any cards. That is how I discarded the Phantasmagorian. If you are still confused I would look into the comprehensive rules 514 Cleanup Step. If you are still having any issues understanding this deck feel free to ask here and I will assist you in anyway I can. Enjoy the videos.
@CaptainWwowW
@CaptainWwowW 11 жыл бұрын
Table Top Magic Ohh that makes perfect sense, since you draw and discard down to 7, and you'd want to discard Phantasgmagorian for its "discard 3" ability, thanks for clearing that up. While I'm at it though I gotta ask, when you activate dredge on something like Stinkweed Imp, do you do that by discarding the imp, dredging 5, and bringing it back into your hand?
@tabletopmagic3386
@tabletopmagic3386 11 жыл бұрын
captainwow No, the card with Dredge must already be in your graveyard to activate the ability. So say turn one on the draw you discard down to seven at the end of the turn discarding a Stinkweed Imp. Then on the next turn, in place of your draw, you would return Stinkweed Imp to your hand and place five cards from the top of your library into the graveyard using the Dredge effect.

Unless he can stop over 40 damage I don't see this happening. I can go threw the numbers and the thought possess for a few different situations and another video if you would like. In major events I combo for the win maybe one out of 3 or 4 games. All the other wins are with Ichorid's, Nether Shadow's and Zombie tokens. Sometimes you just don't have it, sometimes they have enough disruption to stop it. Sometimes it is just the safer bet to hide the combo if you know you can win with aggro.

They can look, but the order must stay the same and it will be a fight to get the people to understand dredge doesn't flip each card individually into the graveyard, but all at the same time and you chose the order they go to the graveyard. Just like how you chose the order when they go to the graveyard from anywhere else if they all go at the same time.

@tabletopmagic3386

The great thing about the deck is that you don't have to go off. I win far more games by just beating people down with reoccurring 3/1s, 1/1s with haste and 2/2 Zombies then I do with the combo. The combo can have holes in the timing. Unless you're going to loose very soon there isn't a lot of need to push the combo unless you have perfect information from Gitaxian Probe or Cabal Therapy. For the most part after that you only need to make sure you still have 3 Dread Return left between your Deck and Graveyard. Then make sure you are going to be able to have enough creatures/tokens throughout the combo to flashback the Dread Returns.

This would be true if I was drawing cards, but Balustrade Spy only makes Target player reveal cards from the top of his or her library until he or she reveals a land card, then puts those cards into his or her graveyard. Since you are not drawing the cards you do not lose.

Cost are independent of the effect and are paid when the effect is put on the stack. Discarding 3 cards is the cost. I payed the cost and put the effect on the stack. Before it resolves I payed cost again and put the effect on the stack a 2nd time. Stack resolves last in first out. The 2nd effect resolves and Phantasmagorian is returned to my hand. The 1st trys to resolve and sees Phantasmagorian is no longer in the graveyard and fizzles.

Can't believe this video was made over 3 years ago and I see you reply to a comment four minute ago after I just finish watching it. Awesome deck! Only started mtg about a year ago with a couple of college buddies, and I'm the only one who has an affinity for graveyard decks. Doing it manaless would definitely be a switch-up they wouldn't expect. I do have two questions though, if you don't mind Why were you able to summon first 3 zombie tokens, and then 12? The from Below card didn't say for "each" creature card, right? And secondly- when you're discarding several cards at once, such as your dredge 6 golgari troll, are you allowed to choose what order they go into the graveyard, so you can be sure the cards that require a certain number of creatures above them are at the bottom? Or does it resolve per each card, with each one going into the graveyard as you would draw them normally? Thanks in advance, I really enjoyed watching this deck playout, despite my confusion.

I would first like to thank you for taking time to watch my videos and so closely too. Next I want to say that every time I hear this at events it feels like a hammer to the chest. Last SCG I attended I had this call 8 of 9 rounds. That being said let me begin with the complicated stuff. I never changed the order of my graveyard, but I understand where you are going with this. When you resolve an ability, like Dredge, that moves multiple cards from one game zone to another; such as my library to my graveyard, you choose the order of the cards that are placed into the new zone. So what ever order I place them into the graveyard is the correct order as long as I don't change the order of the cards that are already in my graveyard. I understand the misconception since Nether Shadow is one of the only cards that have a ability that is relevant to the order of the graveyard. I believe this is also covered in my Manaless Deck Tech. If you have anymore questions feel free to ask. ~Dredge is my business and business is a booming.~
@tabletopmagic3386
@tabletopmagic3386 11 жыл бұрын
azir64 I understand where you are coming from, but here are the comprehensive ruling on the two rules that allow you top put the Dredged cards into your grave in any order so long as I am not tampering with the cards already in my grave. 702.51a Dredge is a static ability that functions only while the card with dredge is in a player's graveyard. "Dredge N" means "As long as you have at least N cards in your library, if you would draw a card, you may instead put N cards from the top of your library into your graveyard and return this card from your graveyard to your hand." 404.3. If an effect or rule puts two or more cards into the same graveyard at the same time, the owner of those cards may arrange them in any order. If you have any other questions feel free to ask. :D

Why don't you run lotus petal? Now, if you have that and a spy in your opening hand, you win the game. Lotus pedal, spy, sac spy for discard spell, get 3 or 4 tokens, sac 3 tokens, return red burn creature guy using reanimate spell from graveyard. Sac using a different discard spell thingy, get three tokens, red guy returns, sac 3 with reanimate spell #2, return big green guy. You can also win on the play with this hand.

So after you draw the last card and its not a land the spy ability would have you continue the search. Resulting on you milling yourself? I know it's just for teaching purposes, but you should never, under any circumstances, put cards into your graveyard the way you did. Even though you can order your dredges, once you place a card into your graveyard, an opponent in a highly competitive REL may not allow you to reposition cards by the time the last card is dredged. This could be highly relevant if you hit a Nether Shadow.
@tabletopmagic3386

I am honored to have Hollywood posting on my channel. You are correct that the cards Dredged should not go into the graveyard before the order is is established. Normally when I play Manaless Dredge at events I place the cards into the middle of the table before I place them into the graveyard. Same goes for LED Dredge especially after I board in Ashen Ghouls. Thanks for taking the time to comment on my videos. I hope you like and subscribe to my channel. I will be posting some videos for Quadlazer Dredge soon. PS, Good Luck Tomorrow.
