So beautiful...I am Samoan...and that shouldn't matter. People of Polynesia are one. Samoa, Hawaii, Tonga, Maori, Tahiti, Raro...and our Melanesian and Micronesia cousins...Kanaka Maoli of the South Pacific. What hurts one, will hurt the rest...we must stand together to protect our people and culture. Praying always for our Islands...

They worship their pagan god's let them suffer the consequences... Leviticus 18: 24-30 Defile not ye yourselves in any of these things: for in all these the nations are defiled which I cast out before you: 25And the land is defiled: therefore I do visit the iniquity thereof upon it, and the land itself vomiteth out her inhabitants. 26Ye shall therefore keep my statutes and my judgments, and shall not commit any of these abominations; neither any of your own nation, nor any stranger that sojourneth among you: 27(For all these abominations have the men of the land done, which were before you, and the land is defiled;) 28That the land spue not you out also, when ye defile it, as it spued out the nations that were before you. 29For whosoever shall commit any of these abominations, even the souls that commit them shall be cut off from among their people. 30Therefore shall ye keep mine ordinance, that ye commit not any one of these abominable customs, which were committed before you, and that ye defile not yourselves therein: I am the LORD your God. Proverbs 26:2-3 Like a fluttering sparrow or darting swallow, an undeserved curse does not come to rest. 3A whip for the horse, a bridle for the donkey, and a rod for the backs of fools!… All Glory To God, Creator Of The Living, The Creator Of Heaven and Earth and man, Heavenly Father of Israel and His Son Yeshua Christ of Nazareth and Holy Spirit Forever and Ever. Samuel Mānaiakalani Kamakau (S.M. Kamakau usually) made a profound statement: He and the Hawaiian Historical Society (which included King Kamehameha III) saw what the US government had done to other true natives of the lands where colonialists plundered. They resolved to record the all of the history of Hawai'i, lest it becomes forgotten, lest they become a people without a history like too many Native North American nations and peoples. He is a champion of scholarship, a champion of all peoples whose past has been stolen from their memories. Never regret this pride, always see this connection. E man, my Armenian ancestors destroyed their own history in the Bible, then later stolen by the Turkish People. It's a scary thing to not know how far your people have come, where they have come from, the importance of their natural landmarks, and of course to feel the pressure of culture thieves on your people's own past.

On April 24, 2019 I was driving past the palace and this song came on. I stopped near the Kamehameha statue, I looked towards the room Queen Liliuokalani was imprisoned in then looked around and began crying to see what has become of our Hawaii nei. Seeing this video brought me back to that moment. That moment when I felt as if our Ali’i was crying for what has happened to their people. To see such passion and mana in this video left me speechless.

I am 4th generation born and raised in Hawaii. Above all else, Hawaii is my heart and soul. I will forever be deeply in love with my Hawaii nei and I thank all of my brothers, sisters, aunties, uncles, kumu, etc - Hawaii is so misunderstood and we were tricked by the mainland. We were never "10 years behind the mainland" - I live in California now and I finally understand that in Hawaii, we are DECADES AHEAD of the entire world in terms of community, connection to nature, pride in culture, and knowing who we are. To all my Hawaii people - STAND UP, we are leaders on this earth and especailly in these crazy times. Our childhoods, the hanabadda days, was our gift from ke akua. We were blessed to have grown up in the islands and I spread aloha everyday as much as I can. Its scary living out here in babylon surrounded by pilau people, but my Hawaii gives me the strength to REMEMBER what I was taught and to keep one foot in the sand. I am tearing as I read this because I know the Hawaii I grew up in is no longer there... Its only a memory now - but US, the people of Hawaii from the 80s-early 2000s, we need to keep our local culture going. The culture created by our elders is precious and unique. Never forget where you came from and for real appreciate how we were raised. We are experts in community, love, and togetherness - took me nearly 30 years to internalize that FACT. Aloha and one love.

I'm swiss. In november 18 we visited the islands of oahu, hawai'i and maui. Before we went there, I planned our visit and discovered the culture of hawai'i. It's not only hollywood, surf and sunshine. No, there is so much more! I fell in love with the aina and as we flight back to switzerland, i almost cryed. Met so much gentle people, and I know, I live in switzerland. But I know, I'm hawaiian by the heart.... I know, I was only a guest for 3 weeks, and I hope, that the native aren't in anger with my words.

Hawaii deserves positivity and support! Spread love and honor our ancestors, malama i ka 'aina. TAKE ACTION and do your research to care and protect the 'aina and keep Hawaiian culture alive. Some may hold a grudge and bitterness against "foreigners" but that's not going to change the past or what shit is going on now. I'v met a lot of non-Hawaiians born in Hawaii and people from the mainland who immerse themselves in the culture and work at cultural sites to keep the stories and culture alive. There's parks, arboretums, botanical gardens, fishponds, forest where conservationist and volunteers from the community that are doing their best to protect sacred sites and bring native plants back to restore the real Hawaii and share the culture with others. Yea, it could be better but at least there's people out there trying and there needs to be more people like that.

Our Queen's motto was “E 'Onipa'a i ka 'imi na'auao”- Be steadfast in the seeking of knowledge. And the people are taking action regarding the Hawaiian Homestead Act and the poisonous water pollution the military bases and weapons have given back to the people. Shameful! My sister is bitter because they keep changing the blood percentage needed to be declared half Hawaiian. The list grows longer. But she is slowly becoming more aware that she can do things differently rather than doing things the same. Aloha & Mahalo

I came across this song recently from my very first trip to The Big Island. And this songs reflects so much on what I see. There are so many Americans here trashing and disrespecting the Island. I can see why they made a song like this about foreigners changing the land. I see more Americans in the Big Island than Native Hawaiians.

This is masterful beautiful work. Much love to all who contributed. It is not about being SAD for our people and culture though. Maybe at one time, we have cried for what we have lost, but if you look with open hearts, like the lyrics say "and in yet you'll find Hawaii". Be righteous. Be pono. Live with aloha and in that righteousness, the life of the land, our people, our culture is truly perpetuated. The visuals are stunning, the vocals and music go straight to the soul. Remember the greats who came before us and laid the foundation that allows us to be victorious in this modern Hawaii in carrying on our truest values. Those who shared the language, the stories, the hula, the mele, the knowledge of the land and sea - thank you. I am moved to do more in sharing these things with my own keiki. I hope the people of Hawaii are inspired to focus on lifting up, celebrating what we love, appreciating what we have, advocating for ourselves and each other in positive, meaningful ways. Do not feed into self-pity, anger, regret, or resentment. That is not the way of Hawaii. Ua mau ke ea o ka aina i ka pono.

Native Hawaiians have every right to be angry, don't take that away from them. Don't make them feel like the guilty party if they harbor any resentments. Over 90% of the population of Hawaii are American nationals and illegal aliens. In any other country they would call this Genocide. The motto.... Ua mau ke ea o ka aina i ka pono...represents justice for the country and it's people. Give Hawaiians Justice.

How beautiful it would be if instead of seeing all cultures melted into one, we see all of them as different and distinct. Respected and treated as an identity and roots, not a weakness. Imagine the number of different cultures that are available for us to appreciate, not to change or wipe out.

I am a Chinese and I was on Maui in 2013-2014, after I came back to China, I always tracing back the days in Hawaii and I am always homesick. I do really appreciate that everyone is protecting Hawaii, the land, the culture and the people in Hawaii. Although the US stealed the land from Hawaiian, they did a lot to desroy Hawaii, what I can do is to spread the Hawaii culture to everyone beside me. Although I am a Shanghainese and working in Shanghai, China, my wife and I always sing Hawaiian songs in my home.

I am of Tongan-European heritage but I was born on this beautiful island of Oahu and I feel so connected to the land and people. When we arrive there I always feel like I'm home. Is it a wonder why more than 9 million people and tourists love the island and return every year? They feel the aloha and can't get enough. The land reflects the love of the people.

We indigenous people are rising up across the world. It is our duty it is our culture our religion and our lifeways. To defend the sacred Earth we call home. My relatives across the world stand proud we are the ones answering grandma's prayers. She has prayed for us and we are here. From Hawaii too Turtle Island, Australia, New Zealand and all the lands we natives still fight to live in. Remember we are stronger together not apart. Much love too all native people's across the Earth. May we remember who we are and remember how too live with in creation not above it.
