The Kawasaki KLR 650 is one of the most common adventure bikes used to date. It is already a very reliable platform to start with. In this 2 part video series we show how to take it to the next level and make this 1GEN KLR even more bullet proof then it already is. In this video we will install the dreaded doohickey and show you the different options for a lower profile drain plug. Don't forget to LIKE-SHARE-SUBSCRIBE and just Remember, "I'm just a man in a cave causing mayhem!"

Bought a 05' today for $1750, the previous owner "bulletproof" the bike, he did everything there is to do on a KLR, even after I've paid him, he was still showing me things he had done, I'm a happy man 😎👍

I flushed my tank with a rust remover the product worked great the inside of the tank looked brand new by the time I got it back on the bike and put gas in it there was already rust again less than 20 minutes.

Hi Larry! That's quite the bike you picked up and it looks like it's in good shape for its age and the fact that it's running is a definite bonus! If you don't mind me asking what did you pay for it. I'm going to start laughing if you say $100 because that's the price you paid for each one of those other ones. I saw in the comments that you're actually Retired now. Congratulations! I Hope You Enjoy Your Retirement! I know you're Just a Man in a Cave Causing Mayhem but I hope you don't get into much trouble causing all that mayhem! LOL! Look forward to seeing your future videos that you'll be able to make now that you have the time! Again Congratulations! And Enjoy Yourself! John PS I'm a Man! I Don't Have a Cave but I'm Still Causing Mayhem!

Thanks for the kind words my friend. I actually got that bike in a trade for one of my Honda CT 110s. The bike is actually going to be for my son and I needed something reliable so it ended up working out nice that my friend wanted to trade. I’m trying really hard to stay out of trouble but I doubt very much that I can be free from Mayhem 🤣🇺🇸 Stay safe my friend thanks again for watching.

Hello again Larry I just realized something that might help you out. This new motorcycle you got was running so I'm assuming loading it must've been a lot easier to load it onto the trailer. When you got the two motorbikes that weren't running you were very lucky that the guy had a tractor to load them for you. Since you're going to be doing project bikes you going to run into a problem at different times because they won't be running. By the way I saw your videos you made on building that trailer which I thought was a Brilliant way to repurpose that trailer. But I have an idea you might like so I thought I would pass it by you and let you think about it. What if that guy didn't have the tractor to load those bikes it would've meant a major battle to get them loaded. What do you think about reinforcing the front of the trailer and putting a plate on it and bolting a backwards facing wench so what would make it easy to load bikes that aren't not running. I say bolting it on the plate so that you can easily take it off when not needed then you can put it on any other vehicle when you need that for something else. I would also try to get one that has a remote if you don't have one already or at least a long enough line so you can operate it yourself while you're loading some bike. Then you can easily load any motorcycle if you don't have enough people around you to help you load it. Anyway I just thought it would run that idea by you and see what you thought. Stay safe and have Fun! John PS Your Friends Seem like They're All Really Nice People!

I’m very fortunate to have good friends around me that enjoy joking around and have very thick skin to take my nonsense👍🏻 and I have in the past thought about maybe throwing a winch on that trailer but the project bikes come far and few between many times and I also have used come along‘s which worked very well too, just a little more work😎

I got mine ('87) for free because the doo grenaded the bottom end. An engine from a '94 (Doo done, unknown miles) and she was great. Time for a refresh after years of abuse and neglect, and a bit too long in outdoors "storage" ( forks and shocks blown out, needs a lot of TLC), but motor seems good!
