2:18 The Old Wellington certainly has a massive history. It used to sit across the street in the old Shambles Square since 1552 but was moved brick by brick around 1996 when that part of Manchester was redeveloped

You found the Roman wall! 😃 I go to Manchester for fun quite often, from Victoria Station, either walk around the centre, or take the tramway to Media City. Both areas have a Bella Italia 😋, and finding a pizza in the UK which deserves the name is quite rare. The library is worth visiting, too, alone for the building inside, and then there's the house where Emmeline Pankhurst lived. If I want to stay overnight I'd be at the Ibis Budget at Salford Quais. Manchester is to this day the only city in the UK I actually like.

Good work Danny, you said the magic words 'hidden gems'. As a proud Mancunian I really value my home town, its rich in culture, history and entertainment. You can relax on grassed areas, at bars or go to the cinema etc. We do have our fair share of the grim side of life too but when you look at this it's a wow. There is just one thing out of place though.. its usually absolutely buzzin with people! Where the hell are they...

Manchester at one time in history was one of the most wealthiest places in the entire world. So it seems that it is not so much being developed, than it is being restored. The notorious Don Arden, music mogul and father/in law of Sharon and Ozzy Osborne was born on the street you were walking down near the prison.

There’s always an argument for councils and developers NOT no invest in town centres, lack of foot fall, lack of interest from companies and brands in leasing buildings. No point pumping millions into an area where it’s not going to make money. One day when the country sacks off Amazon and the like then we may see the so called high street making a return, but I doubt it.

England needs a rival to London rather than everything being sucked down south. We aren't the big USA with multiple great Cities but we should promote Manchester so that it is as near prestigious and attractive as London. I would legitimately consider moving to Manchester, but you couldn't pay me to move to Birmingham. Even the name is absolutely vile I avoid saying it verbally. Bumming-ham. You can barely call Brighton a city when they reject every city-appropriate development and refuse to build either outward or upward. It's an over-glorified large town and is en route to becoming Blackpool 2.0, but without the record-breaking amusement park. There are almost zero opportunities in Brighton unless you're a chef, a tattoo artist, a bike thief, or your ambition in life is to sell tat on the corner (all of which you can do a lot more successfully in almost every other English city). To live a good life in Brighton you would need to spend your career in London first, and even still there's nothing WITHIN the city that would keep you from travelling to London to actually spend your money on goods or entertainment. I agree that Brighton has massive potential - but it needs to start ignoring the pentioners protests of every urban project, and living up to its old moniker of 'London-by-Sea' - if it wants to raise the quality of life and opportunities for locals. If the people of yesterday had the same attitude as Brighton council/OAP's today - the Pavilion wouldn't exist, the Pier wouldn't exist, and neither would those large white waterfront estates. In my opinion, if Brighton keeps rejecting development projects; having no vision for its future (particularly seeing as it is supposed to be a 'summer tourist hot-spot'); and insisting on 3-4 bedroom housing IN CENTRAL CITY LOCATIONS (despite rejecting apartments because they are 'not affordable', as if 3-4 bedroom houses on the waterfront will ever be affordable) -- then they should have their city-status revoked.
