ESPN FC’s Craig Burley tears into Manchester United after a draw vs. Huddersfield Town guaranteed they will finish outside the Premier League’s top four, meaning they will play in the UEFA Europa League rather than the Champions League in 2019-20. Burley says Man United have never been at such a low place since the retirement of Sir Alex Ferguson. He blames a lack of leadership by the Glazer family and poor decisions by United’s chief executive, Ed Woodward, including his decision to make Ole Gunnar Solskjaer the permanent manager at Old Trafford before the end of the season.

K G It’s really not that easy. You think Woodward will sell 8 players and bring 8 players in one transfer window? There are many problems wrong with this club, the Glazers sucking out money, the structure, the so called “virus” throughout the changing room, the fitness levels, the attitudes, the wages, the players that are not good enough, lack of leadership, letting contracts run down, no director of football. K G I agree we can’t keep building ontop of deadwood we need to move the deadwood first then bring in new players but it’s frustrating there are so many problems wrong still. The joy of watching your team play the top teams in Europe is what every fan wants. Plus, if you want trophies then why not get relegated and win the Championship next season?
