People that didn't see Boba Fett were confused AF why Grogu was back with Mando
@Bird-Birdy-Love Жыл бұрын
Yeah while i like a sense of a whole universe for this franchise having key plot elements that move the story forward be shown in another unrelated series does make it a bit of an issue for people to follow, especially casual viewers. They should keep it like star trek, different shows set in the same universe but they each have their own self contained stories. That way anyone can just jump into the show and if they want to see the others they can but not be forced to do so. same issue with MCU their mixing the stories in dif series and movies that some thing dont make much sense unless see other stuff.

I never thought about this show from a more casual viewer’s perspective. You’re absolutely right that they haven’t really fully fledged out Din Djarin’s culture or some of the side characters in this show specifically. The show relies on viewers to already know Mandalorian culture, cults and characters such as Bo-Katan from the Clone Wars and Rebels.

True to the las word, I grown up with Starwars since 1979, got comics, seen tv shows, all the movies, collected etc… TM I think is overpriced, yes it’s entreatment, funny, it got that SW feel, but really is not happening much in. This new chapter feel empty too, some action yes, but that was it. Feel like trying to fill some blanks nothing less

I wish they wouldn’t have done the Book of Boba Fett crossover, it just made it messy. I think that season one of The Mandalorian was great because it was all stand alone episodes with an epic space western feel. Now I feel like it is meandering with small, pointless arcs that just drag out needlessly.

Liene, if you want to try reading something Star Wars I bet you'd really enjoy the Darth Bane trilogy. It's basically grimdark sci-fi with some solid character work. They're a quick read. Set about 1000 years before the original movies. And yeah, this episode was a jumbled mess. Recently, Favreau said that he has no plans for an ending of the show... You'd think they'd have learned their lesson from the sequel trilogy. I agree, if they stuck with the monster of the week format I'd enjoy the episodic nature more. Strange creative decisions.

They are an Orthodox sect, their not actual mandalorians like in the clone wars. Even Bo katan Kryse whose sister Satine was the Duchess of mandalore said he was a child of the watch. They don't represent the entire mandalorian species. I do agree with the whole helmet thing it's really stupid and annoying even to someone who is a fan of the franchise. Mandalorian I like it but it's definitely flawed. The beach thing my theory is it's one of their bases or a sacred site for them to do these rituals, that and the mandalorian are a culture of warriors, their not going to run away from a fight for any reason. So those are my only explanations for those not saying I'm right but it's a possibility. I think they're getting lazier with it personally.

Looking forward to watching the rest of this, but wanted to say before I forgot... if you HAD watched "Rebels", I would oh-so-strongly have suggested reading the first extended universe trilogy by Timothy Zahn, the "Thrawn Trilogy" or the "Heir To The Empire" trilogy: Heir To the Empire, Dark Force Rising and The Last Command. Would still recommend it even if you hadn't. In short, Disney bought gossamer-spun gold filigree, crushed it up over their coffee, sculled it, then pressure-expelled various bidirectional liquid byproducts of this over the pages and finger-scrawled their Disney stupidity into the congealed mess. ... but if you HAVE seen Mandalorian, Boba Fett or such, I would strongly recommend reading the series "Republic Commando" including "Imperial Commando". The author is Karen Traviss, Englishwoman who among other jobs acted as defence correspondent and SERVED IN the Territorial Army and Royal Naval Auxiliary Service. She did a lot developing Mandalorian vocabulary, language ("Mando'a") and culture; the clone troopers and a lot of EU Boba Fett&co. stuff. This woman is the second big reason it's possible to sing the Clone Troopers' anthem "Vode An" ("Brothers All") wholly in either English or Mandalorian. Search this same site for "Vode An" and enjoy the orchestral choral in Mandalorian. ... the reason she STOPPED writing Star Wars books is because in one stupid sentence, one of the Disney Clone Wars episodes declared some rubbish about Mandalorian culture being long-standing pacifists and Mandalore being a post-apocalyptic wasteland. She was TOLD her not to mention Mandalorian history in her in-progress contracted book; a lot of which she'd DEVELOPED for Lucas Books. She engaged with fans. She was made an honorary member of the 501st Legion and was donated her own set of Republic Commando Omega Squad armour by fans. You appreciate good writing. Give up on Disney, try the EU books. EDIT: and now I just got to the bit where you say "the way the show is showing it to me is really dumb so unless they're gonna do a better job of like presenting me this culture in a way that's less ridiculous just don't". YOUR HONOUR, THE PROSECUTION RESTS. "This is the way" = "THE SEA IS ALWAYS RIGHT". > is that really all you got is that all this show is really just gonna be, a Grogu adorableness delivery mechanism a) YES. DISNEY. DIS-NEY IS ALWAYS RIGHT. THIS IS THE WAY. b) When you release the Peter Jackson extended cut of this video, please bleep every mention of Grogu's name and replace it with your dubbed voice saying "Baby Yoda". Or, "merch mechanism". "Merchanism". ... don't get me wrong. I last wrote to you, nobody is gonna make a video like you do, even if they've done a video on the same topic. You covered "The Rings Of Power" just like heaps of people including Disparu and Jonny Law did, but DAMN, nobody put in the Comedy Show take like you did and I came back for that again and again. But unless your plan is to go the Disparu/Jonny Law path and watch trash television *explicitly* BECAUSE it's SUCH TRASH... ... go to the old Star Wars books, I beg for you. Come to the Light Side. It may not have cookies, but at least the writers have object permanence.

Yeah, I never really never liked The Mandalorian. I’m a hardcore Clone Wars fan, and I’m really pissed about how they portray Mandalore culture, it’s so stupid. It feels… empty. I don’t really know how else to describe it. I was bored all season 2, and season 3 I just stopped watching halfway through because the story was so boring and so POINTLESS. Idk, maybe I’m a little biased because prequel era of Star Wars is my favorite (I hate the prequel movies, but the concepts introduced in them I found quite interesting)

Usually agree but I think it’s important that he is in a specifically dogmatic sect within Mando culture. Most Mandolorians take their helmets off on the regular because why wouldn’t you? Going to a toxic planet to bathe in some mines is dumb as hell, that’s why Bo Katan mocks him a little. He is a religious zealot who values Grogu more than his faith and that’s where the tension for the season is coming from. …but you are right the pirate part was dumb 😔

Yup, the more we learn about them the dumber they get. Sigh. FYI, in KOTOR Canderous Ordo didn't wear his helmet. The Mandalorian culture was that they loved glory in battle.
@pontificusrex1501 Жыл бұрын
The whole "beasty" fight became confusing when Mando shows up, because I thought it was a flashback to Mando getting his helmet as a child, where presumably they would explain why Mando wants to get redeemed so badly.

So the rumor is that Kathlyn Kennedy, who had been distracted with this Blood and Bones adapation, returned to Star Wars when that all fell apart and she interferred hardcore with Bobba Fett. Demanding that the scooter kids be in it and that they had to get Grogu and Mando back together and do that in the middle of Bobba's show and now Favearu has shifted his energy to Asoka with Filonia because KK is ignoring that project so Mando Season 3 ain't getting his A game.

Mandalorian was never a great show, it just showed some promise at first. Disney+ is pumping out mass quantities of subpar Star Wars shows. None of it is drawing me in. Your perspective, as an casual observer, is refreshing. The Mandalorian has degenerated into only a mechanism for gratuitous baby Yoda moments. It is funny Watching Disney ruin both the, formerly great Marvel & Star Wars franchises.

Pedro is just doing the voice for Mando, so they need to have him keep the helmet on unless Pedro comes back to act in the series. Takawtiti does the robot voice do they need to fix that robot to use the same voice. It’s a script that fits the actors instead of actors fitting the script, which is likely why it’s a mess.

It's season 3. It's had two complete seasons before that, not to mention all the EU lore Disney selectively chose to steal and bastardise. If you can't judge the series based on the attention-grabbing first episode of season 3 by a company as big and rich as Disney, then... well, no, one absolutely CAN judge it. And the kind of person who says "you can't judge a series" under THESE conditions is the kind of unthinking lazy person (or astroturfing shill) whose opinion just can't be trusted.

I found this episode very unfulfilling. I thought having the boy's head become shaved and then fitted with the helmet would have looked better. Fighting the water beastie was underwhelming, and I even told my husband "why are they bothering, just run up to land where they can't get eaten. Why don't they have a better technique or weapons to kill it?" . My husband knows the lore and just said it's because they are known to not run from a fight. Uh, ok. Brave but stupid comes to mind, lol. I also don't care about the robot.

As someone who isn't a Star Wars expert either, I also don't get the must-wear-a-helmet thing. John says Mando is part of an extremist cult of Mandalore which is why they never take off the helmet but that's not really enough of an explanation for me since obvio Bo-Katan doesn't wear one all the time. We've been watching Rebels and on season 3, they're explaining more about the different clans of Mandalore but they all take off their helmets as far as I can tell so I dunno. *shrug*. Loved your video, friend.

As I understand it the reason is because Pedro isn’t the guy in the suit he’s just doing the voice so they need a reason to keep the mask on him but honestly if he just kept it on and it wasn’t discussed in the plot no one would notice or care

I say this as someone whose life was changed by seeing the first movie during its original run, bought the toys, had the drinking cups, read the old Marvel comics, slept on the bedsheets, and busted open a piggy bank in order to fund the purchase of the 'Art of' book ... the franchise has been a mess since the twist in 'Empire.' Outstanding bit of drama, but totally lacking in logic, and made even worse by that "a certain point of view" nonsense. It's just that at a certain point we were too young to care.
