Okay, if you've never actually had a motion detector in your bathroom, this is how it goes: Enter bathroom. Do The Little Dance that turns it on (no one can just wave at it normally, I swear). Sit on toilet. About 5 minutes later, do another Half Dance from the toilet after the light plunges you into darkness suddenly. Repeat as necessary. If showering, forget to turn the light to stay on, do a half-wet dance about 5 minutes later after you've once more been plunged into darkness. Swear you'll remember next time.

What I found about Oxygen Mask stations is if a dupe is running out of O2, will just go to the nearest station to recharge. And because of the check point, they cannot leave until the mask is full again. And if in the meantime they need to the washroom, sleep or eat, they can create problems. It may be a good idea to have multiple "recharge" stations, with food, sleep and a washroom, like truck stops. Alternatively, if using apartments, it may be useful to restrict access to the station using doors. That way only the dupe that lives there will go and use it and not any random dupe passing by.

dont skimmers have a built in element sensor? i can sort of understand using a pressure sensor close to it to avoid processing "incomplete" packets, but the extra element check seems unnecessary.

I think you should also put apartments horizontally across and at least four below to do oil and cold biomes for faster commutes. Obviously you'll have apartments above for rocketeers, but considering the size of this map, you'll need some specialized areas and automation to help with the commutes. Yep, definitely need automated storage and retrieval of masks if you're going to do it that way.

i had the same problem with the blueprints. you have to clear your blueprints folder it holds the base game blueprints that break the mod in the dlc. After i cleared the folder just moved them onto my desktop then ran the dlc made a blueprint and it worked

It also crashes (or was) whenever you try to make or use a blueprint with a door in it. Avoid doors and it works fine

25 hours is too early to say that you suck at the game. If you don't wanna wait to learn and struggle by yourself, big fun part of the game btw, you could look at some 'useful designs' in the steam workshop, they are really helpful and well explained. If looking for early game stuff, get oxygen generation, food production and heat management (cooling) first. This will make you free to explore other builds without the panic of a base on constant fire.

You need to raise the doors by 1 tile and place an Airflow tile under it to contain Polluted Water incidents. Also use the Polluted Water as your source for your bathroom, carbon skimmer and air systems instead of your fresh Water. Set to Water Pump to run for 2-4 seconds a day and it will take around 100+ days to drain that deposit at the top of the base.

i was reading the hatch food stats, and i noticed that standard hatches can eat clay at 140kg per cycle. i wonder, is it possible that you could use teams of polluted water bottles or polluted dirt near space to keep a full hatch ranch going permanently?

The "research outpaces your ability to put it into use" thing really bothers me about this type of game, and probably this game most of all actually. It tends to make it feel like the research didn't actually need to be there, because by the time you want something you've got it unlocked already. Great series by the way. Feels a lot like some of your best older series, even though it doesn't have much of a clear theme just yet (besides these huge, expensively furnished apartments, the masks, and outhouses).

Brothgar, there is a bug with the Blueprint mod and the Spaced Out DLC where blueprints can not be made that include doors. It crashes the game if you attempt to make one. The mod developer has yet to patch the issue.
