Mongo was one bad cat . Mr Watermelon man . Saw Mongo at Avery Fisher Hall with Tito Puente and the Latin Jazz All Stars in NYC His playing took me to the mother land never forget it. He was fraile but his rhythm patterns were truly authentic and crisp probably one of his last appearances . RIP Santamaria
