It is like the screen is sucked into itself by something. But, when you look at your hand, the same thing happens. I assume that your eyes get used to the motion and try to compensate that, obviously they can't. They keep the motion, and when you look at something static, you can see that. Fractals are awesome (Sry for bad english, I'm german)

If we assume that the first frame shows a 60 cm (24 inches) diagonal image, the last image is a detail of a 60e+1,429 cm diagonal image. If I'm right this is 1.5e+1,399 times wider than observable universe (~1.5e+gogol^14). This would be a big image to render - don't try this at home ^^ Nice video, in my opinion it would be smoother if zooming factor was more exponential than linear.

holy magnification batman, that is a deeeeeeeeeeeeep zoom Mandelbrot set , whoooo eeey 2^4750 wow thats about 1500 log 10 go on see if you can zoom to the graham number scale and i will walk on water vapour, hell i ran it slower and its great as a side screen for all night parties with a few other fractal zooms only to the 10^300 huh chicken feed. well done my first ever Mandelbrot forée was a c program i wrote did the maths long hand no integer substitution 4096*4096 of main set (-2 +1.5i) to (0.5 -1.5i) took about 2 weeks left a 386 machine (when a 386 was a big thing (chuckle)) running while i went on holiday, it was a very crisp tga file however.go on more.. whats inside that final gingerbread man????

It represents the escape velocity of the complex coordinate. The computer pics a complex coordinate then runs the algorithm until the escape velocity (i = greater than 2). The color represents how many times the algorithm is run before the result is a number greater than 2 and the cordinate plane is no longer considered within the function. In essence it is how far away a specific point is from the edge of the fractal, which is interesting because it is not spatially dependent like you would expect when calculating the distance to the perimeter on an educludian (3d) object. Despite existing in a 2D complex plane, it may be considered a 4D object (or a 2D object with a fractal dimension of between 1-2). Therefore it straddles the line between a 3D object and a 4D object while being described in 2D space.

"Wow man!" - Tommy Chong Some people may perhaps like to imagine the surface is entire existence, showing the face of all the information - the formation. One of those is me. As I experience the zoom, it's like I'm examining more details. A bit like breaking a noun down into a sentence and then breaking down each word of that sentence INto ever more individual detail. Or just imagine zooming in on a piece of matter, is an easier way to think about what I mean. I want to see a 3 dimensional mendelbrot's set iterate at Planck Time that includes all the information of existence, including that which is not yet known (dark energy). I want to see if it looks like the Universe and see if it lasts as long as the Universe from beginning to end. I wanna be able to zoom in any dimension, X or Y or Z or Time, or any combination thereof. Then I'd have a better idea about what the Universe is and how everything fractally iterates - like plants and stuff. Sadly, such a model at Universe scale can't be done, except that Everything is actually fractalysing. But's that's OK, because it still wouldn't explain why were are here perceiving experiences within the spacetime construct anyway. Ah well. I'll study ever expanding business fractals instead, which is a smaller endevour.
