Thank you for the tutorial Can you make a tutorial on Recommended hardware, I have intel i5 6600k and rx 570 4gb. Everything takes days to render

Hi Stephen, always a pleasure seeing your posts in the facebook group. Quick question, a lot of other tutorials have a multicolored sphere as their starting "material one". You and I have that wonky shape as our starting material. Do you know how I get the sphere as my starting material? Thanks!

Are you sure you're not confusing Mandelbulber with Mandelbulb 3D? That might be why the tutorials look different?

Great guide, do I need to do something similar to tdr disable on mac?

No, that’s just a Windows thing.

Can I alter or create a .fract file using a text editor? Can I copy and paste from another .fract file or from a plain text file.? I keep getting error messages when I try to do this. Thanks.
@StephenSink2 жыл бұрын
In the video, I walk you through exactly how to copy and paste settings in Mandelbulber. You can edit them in a text file as well. I’m not sure what the disconnect is. Perhaps if you ask the same question at the Facebook forum, we can better get you going again.

Hi, If you change the time out with the registry how can you go back? Do you have another registry to go back to the default windows settings?

Hi, great presentation. I really like the V.2 of Mandelbulber. I only used V. 1.9.1 til now. Problem is, the rendering is so super slow thats its no fun to work with. This is what I have iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, Mid 2015) Processor:3.3 GHz Intel Core i5 Memory: 16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3 Any idea whats the problem here, why its so extremely slow ? Thank you

so..new computer and new GPU so i reinstalled MDBB and was wondering as far as max memory and job size multiplier go how would I determine those values? Im running an RTX 3070 ti.
@StephenSink9 ай бұрын
I've found that the max memory doesn't really make much difference on anything. I've used both the suggested memory size and also turned it up to the max, and it doesn't seem to make much difference. HOWEVER, the job size multiplier does make a difference and the only way to find the value for your particular card and machine is to run the same image several times at different job size multipliers (JSM) values and see what works best. My 30900TI takes a value of 64 on most renders but most of my other cards prefer the default of 2 or 4 or thereabouts. You just have to try yourself. I usually go 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, 64, and then after finding what number gives me the fastest renders, start dialing it up or down until you don't see any time savings from it. Good luck!

@@StephenSink BTW, im aware the old Mandelbulbers facebook is down and you posted a while back on there some MDBB work with photoshops ai implemented into it. I saved it but can no longer view any of my saves from that page. Is there any way i can see that image if you remember what im referrin to. I really liked it and want to use it as inspiration to make a mandelbulb with little elements of firefly as well!

Hey steve, would u happen to know why once my render has finalized the colors of my shaders get very faded instantly?
@StephenSink3 жыл бұрын
Are you using screen space ambient occlusion or ray traced? That can change the render at the end when it applies the ambient occlusion. If you post some settings at the Facebook Mandelbulber forum, we can take a look for you.
@joe-5D3 жыл бұрын
@@StephenSink yesss turning ambient occlusion off worked!! U rock, bro! Btw is AO necessary for realism or anything else and is there a way to make it not do that fade thingy

@StephenSink2 жыл бұрын
@@John-mz8rj Did you mean that Mandelbulber has a better UI or Mandelbulb 3D? Regardless of your answer, Mandelbulb 3D hasn't been in development for years now and never will be. Mandelbulber is updated regularly and is also 64-bit, compared to Mandelbulb 3D 32-bit. But thanks for your interest either way and good luck!

@@StephenSink This one has the better ui. The other one is difficult to use navigation wise.
