"...That isn't true. And the reason it can't be true is because there is nobody over there that has it so there can't be somebody over here that has it..." that's just beautiful. Thank you for this upload!

I used to fear there wasn't a self but then I was contemplating suffering and how this pain might be caused at the root level by a fear that my self would die or go to hell and so-on...then I caught a glimpse of how there could be no-self and then I didn't fear death...(its hard to explain). I no longer feared not existing when I die. It is so hard to explain this experience.

What we call self realisation is ONLY being oneself, as there is no second existence - Ramana Maharshi - Anything else is purely imagination. Once the mature (only grown adults can leave materialism alone), inquirer understands firmly that existence is the same as awareness and either implies me in essence, then this *is* self-realisation. Existence is eternal - meaning I cannot find an end nor a beginning to my awareness-existence - and once this is known firmly, we are free. It's so simple that we need a subtle & purified mind to see it. We are utterly free right now and could never be bound. How can someone *outside jail looking in* be incarcerated?

@HylianSpirit ...what a bummer..

@ssolo8 Look at your mind. Who thinks "What a bummer?" You'll find it arose, automatically; probably followed by a physical emotion. It isn't a bummer, though. It's the way it has always been, and you were far more in-tune with it as a child, especially as an infant. Babies are. They don't think and then act. They just do. It's entirely impersonal to them.

@ncripzx You aren't awareness any more than you are the things perceived by awareness. Perception, like thoughts, are completely automatic. Nothing stands behind the 'camera' of perception. That which says "I am awareness" is not awareness. That's an automatic, unchosen thought. Perception itself is quite stoic, and unaffected by anything it sees. There is no You, so you can't be awareness. You aren't the body, mind or perception of either thereof!
