Scratch build mandolin project.
Been working on this one for a while. Based on plans for an "A" model mandolin with design variations from the travel guitars that I'm working on.
The neck is Spanish Cedar, the top, back, and sides are mahogany and the tail is rosewood. The fretboard is also rosewood.
I ordered the wood from Hibdon Hardwoods. They have a section for deals on their website. As I develop my Lutherie skills, I try not to spend too much money on instrument materials. I did go with decent Grover tuners which was a good choice. They are accurate and stable.
