Mike Marshall is my cousin and after viewing his video lessons, et al, on youtube, I'd just like to say how very proud Grandpa Marshall would be of him, as I am, and his entire family in PA. Cynthia

Mike Marshall is a super humanly good mandolin player (and guitar, and probably fiddle!). We are so lucky that he puts these lessons out for public consumption. Pay close attention to how well he frets!

So happy that I watched this video tonight..... I've only been playing for a few days now and I am hooked. This was such a helpful lesson to me as it is more of an exercise but also gave me so many more ideas to play with. Thanks so much!

Thanks for this exercise, really great. I have a small hand and have tried all kinds of mandolins trying to find one that I play comfortably, without pain. I've settled on an A-style Washburn, because of the small neck, which allows me more free access on the upper positions, leaves a lot to be desired as far as quality sound. Using light strings, low action. Any other suggestions for comfort in upper positions? Thanks Kay

But I can do it that fast. What's wrong with that? 😉
@McGuire406959 жыл бұрын
+Sttonkeoj I think what he means is to make sure that you can play it cleanly. Playing it cleaner and at a moderate tempo is better sloppy and faster.
