Even Texas which had rebeled against Mexico to join the US over slavery then found it's self a member of the confederacy. Yes actually wildfire still burns the pine cones of East Texas. Hands down my favorite song by them. I started covering it this year, and I plan to open a town festival with it this weekend. It's an 1850s festival in rural Missouri, and it will be a perfect song for the event. I also play at the fine dining restaurant every Wednesday and Thursday in the same town, and I cover this song every night. the staff have grown to love it, though I doubt they know what I'm singing about. Mandolin Orange/Watchhouse is arguably the most underrated band I've ever heard.
