Thanks for not droning on about insignificant stuff. Some you tubers on camping or off grid living tend to drone on and on about unimportant stuff.

I love to see these oldies being restored and love doing it myself. Once I started looking for videos like this I was shocked how many people are doing this. Good video!

It's definitely a classic RV!

My dad had a 73 Dodge camper van. It had side pipes on it and an orange stripe with different designs throughout the stripe. Had a lot of good times in that van.

Sounds like it was an interesting paring job, and it had lots of memories.

My first RV was just like this one. It was so bad the side walls were caving out, so I put a chain and turn buckles across it to keep it from collapsing.

That sounds exactly like the 440 in my friends 76 Sportsman. hers was rebuilt 500 miles ago.Those are amazing motors. I got some berryman b12 for the gas as lots of soot in tailpipes from short trips.

I just picked up a 78 gm that has almost exact same body except my table seats have seatbelts lol, but rest is identical and sitting well about the same, I know 50/50 chance of getting mine to start but I know my 350 4 bolt main motors and they can sit for ever and still fire up just like the old dodge 318's and 360's they are almost bullet proof motors

Looks like my Dodge CB300 Box van but with a camper. The grill was missing and it cost me $240, hard to find. I have a 360 V8. Mine had been sitting since 98 and I got it in May I think. The feed and sender unit sits on the side of the tank on the rear, and it was gone. Hard to find that too. The gas in it was super nasty, had to clean out the tank. 31 Gallon tank I think, huge, but probably doesn't give much more than 200 mile range, not great on gas. My van has 84,000 on it and started right up out of a gas can. The pump is on the engine. Ran great, so I bought it. Dodge doesn't even have record of parts on these past 1984, the dealership was clueless.

Overall, how was the condition of yours? Better or worse than this one? We have since pretty much gutted it entirely. Left the table, and some of the shelving.
@tblbaby3 жыл бұрын
@@AdventureGearTV I guess better, except the gas tank situation. Mine wasn't an RV though, just a box "work" van. It didn't leak except through the top vent so there wasn't a bunch of stuff that got wet and rotted. It's more like an Ambulance Box than RV. Just a basic box.

@@tblbaby sounds like it might be a perfect platform to work with. Once we put the gas in, it started up. We only made it about 5 miles on the three gallons, but if we keep it fueled up it runs.
@tblbaby3 жыл бұрын
@@AdventureGearTV might want to see if the tank is dirty and add a fuel filter. Maybe change the one you have. Often that's the cause of stalling out. Check the exhaust for black smoke if running too rich. Or is that lean? Check plugs for extra carbon. If the carb is pushing too much gas could use a lot and have a hard time keeping running.

I can only imagine the engine damage done from starting it without even checking the oil and using such old oil.

Once you get it all fixed up and all the bugs and the spider webs and the rodents are gone, I'll trade you a really nice 2003 Honda Odyssey! 🤣💜

What’s your tow package? I’ve got a f150 XLT and I towed an 4,500 pound travel trailer before but don’t know if I’d be brave enough to try to pull my rv. I just got an rv and it’s having alternator issues and was wondering if I’d ever have to do this lol

I’m not sure, but it’s old and rusty. So, don’t try this at home. Unless you’re looking for a wild ride.
