I grew up in a 2200 ft² house with a full basement (unfinished) on two and a half acres and it was so sweet. The front yard on the other side of the driveway in front of the house sloped down and that was my playground, but it was also kind of wild with weeds and bumblebees. As a former packaging engineer, it’s definitely a corporate push to eliminate all plastics from their products. The paper bags you’re showing in the video are most likely lined with som kinda plastic on the inside or some type of polymer coating to seal the bag. There are different alternatives that involve different kinds of starches but they really effect the type of artwork you can put on the bag and the seal strength of the bag. That’s probably why they went with a box option for the mystery packs.

Personally this will be a hot take but the Bomb Squad clones and the Gunner from the 2008 clone walker battlepack. Bomb squad clones aren’t badly designed and look great in small numbers in a 212th MOC but they aren’t at all good for army building. Same reason for the clone gunner. Yes it’s well designed but when it comes down to it wouldn’t that set have been better if that clone gunner was one more regular clone. Yes there are worse clones out there in my opinion but I think that super specialized clones generally in battle packs is not ideal. Especially if it’s some utility or pilot clone such as the gunner and bomb squad.

I think the CMF boxes are a good move. Not siding with LEGO, but I feel that you would actually have the chance to get a minifigure that everybody wanted, instead of a fresh box being "feel" then with the figures all bought, listed on ebay or whatnot at x3 the price and the store is left with the unwanted ones not selling, which was a big problem because the store wouldnt want to bring more stock in. (I am still able to find the disney series 2 in store and they are mostly duplicates as usual with the popular ones missing).

I've said this for a while but I really want Lego to make a TIE Punisher. First they should make a new TIE Defender and Vader's TIE Fighter, but after that, I REALLY want them to make one. Such a big and beefy ship, I love it. Perhaps you could make a MOC video by combining multiple TIE bombers, since the two are very similar.

I can add to the answer at 12:27 about what Lego does to unsold sets. I used to work at a lego store and whatever unsold sets that “outlived their lifespan” were thrown out. Usually once a year around September we were given a scrap list from corporate and we were forced to dump those selected sets in the dumpster.

Honestly, I doubt it. It is 15 cents per set (and optional, technically, anyways*), they don't need to make us pay $5 extra per set or anything. Also, I think they have other reasons to do this, for example, they can see what sets someone has been buying, and maybe offer better set recommendations on their website. Or maybe they want to see who is finding ways around the set limit. (You can only buy a limited number of some sets) *Not everyone will know about this and do this EDIT: Sorry, I misunderstood. I thought you were asking if LEGO would increase their set prices, which I was saying that, no, I don't think they will. But will the value of instructions sold separately from the sets go up? Yeah, probably. Maybe not by a large amount, but I bet they will.

Will you ever review the second Avatar The Last Airbender set (Air temple)? Also, here is an idea. You know how Lego Ideas does not allow certain properties? Better call Saul and Breaking Bad are among those, and also ones that I perhaps want the most in Lego form. Now, I do not know if you knew about this, but there is actually an animated tv show based around adventures of very young Saul called Slippin Jimmy, and that show has the same tv rating as something like Stranger Things. My question is, if somebody made a project for Lego Ideas based around this show, would they allow it to progress to Gathering Support phase? The earlier 70s/80s/90s sets had multiple steps in one and were hard to follow at times, but some of the Creator Expert instructions from the late 2000s and early 2010s had really poor printing quality. A good example is the Emerald Night, where a lot of the darker-colored bricks are near impossible to see.

It's funny you mention bringing a scale to Target. My partner and I went hunting for non-Lego blind boxes because she wanted many of one specific uncommon character and it was trial and error, taking weight averages, and a lot of disappointment. Never again.

Plastic recyclability is a myth. The switch to paper and boxes is for the environment. Please do not toss plastic smaller than 2 liter bottles or large clam shell packages into the recycle, it makes sorting out the stuff that can actually be recycled more expensive/worse. Also, milk jugs aren't recyclable, but they can be melted down in a home oven and formed into new objects. And sometimes there are 'dedicated' bins for plastic film (like shopping bags) that actually recycle that (sometimes at your local grocery store.) Gonna keep bringing this up every time it's adjacent to a topic you talk about. But please, don't throw plastic in the recycling and where practical/possible avoid single use plastics. (I've now gotten to the rest of that segment and agree that the paper bags are better. But you've mentioned throwing away spare pieces in the past so I'll keep this up as a PSA.)

Lego’s premium Minifigure, for all intents and purposes, is the $5 cmf. What could a $20 Minifigure look like? I think it’d be cool if Lego had a premium Minifigure line that put more time and effort into prints and accuracy. Essentially customs but not $100+ each thanks to Lego’s resources.

The most common scams on ebay are fake or reconstructed mini-figs for rare sets like Betrayal on Cloud City Han Solo and Boba Fett or BARC Speeder Captain Rex.

Ask Mandr: I wonder what you think of my oddball star wars ideas: 1, Cartoon Clone Wars General Grievous with his Tri-Wing Shuttle that he kidnaps Palpatine with. (cartoon Grievous was just far more elegant and badass than the 3D versions, and I wanna see a minifig version of him) This set could include 5 minifigs: Grevious, Palpatine, Shaak Ti, Foul Moudama and Roron Corobb or 2, Sabine's Tie Fighter (an excuse to get a Tie Fighter that was used by the rebels, and better updated SW:Rebels Sabine with her Season2 or Season3 Mandalorian Helmet) Maybe have Zeb and Hera in there too to re-enact the scene when they were crammed in there together

Ask Mand R: A couple questions - Do you think Lego Star Wars will ever go back and make sets on later franchises, namely Rouge One, Clone Wars Series, etc, like they do with the original trilogy and prequels. Do you think we'll go back to good ol' flickfire missiles? Mostly right now the springloaded get lost or they stick out in the build (Luke's X-Wing being one.) Do you think LEGO actually listens or cares on these kind of things?

Ask Mandr: I was able to pick up an ARC Trooper battle pack for £30 GBP at a small Lego convention last November. I've been holding onto it to sell but it's such a great set. Does the possible sale price outweigh the enjoyability of the set? If so, should I open it?

Am I the only one who actually likes stores who lock LEGO in glass? During clearance season the ONLY clearance I could get my hands on was 1 singular Walmart that had their LEGO... behind glass. Prevents theft which keeps inventory up!

Ask Mandr: With more clone companies being released (Shock, 501st, 212th, 332nd, 187th) when do you think the possibility for clone cmfs could happen?

If Lego did a Clone CMF where each figure is an unnamed Clone from a different company it would print money. People would buy so many to army build!

It would be a nightmare for retail workers. Damaged boxes would be everywhere. Too many angry customers would exist.

I hope not. I love clones, they're the main thing I collect, but a clone CMF would be so ridiculously impossible to collect because of how commonly they would be sold out and army built, that I'd really hate it if Lego made one.
