We start Sept 14 because we have harvest, butchering/processing and the county fair. Tons of work, educational posters, record books and manual labor and exhaustion lol. Technically all of the work leading up to fair is "school" but our 1st day of book work & school pics are the 14th 😉

We started July 25! Figured starting earlier would give us more breaks throughout the year or we could finish earlier 🤷🏻‍♀️ but knowing us we will just have more “sick” days 😬

I start with my ideal end date, holidays, and birthdays then figure it out from there. I also like to take a full week break every 6-7 weeks. We will start on August 8 this year.

We are starting August 1st. Our lessons have been planned through October. I stopped there to have room for adjustments in changes that may have to be done with the courses.

Hahaha I remember the TV on the cart!!! ❤️🤣🤣🤣 We're starting Aug 29th because we didn't finish last year till June 28th. We are doing year round & love it!

We actually started on July 4th. It was a holiday, but since we do school in the morning and 4th of July festivities don't usually start until the evening, I was fine with it. Plus, my kids are 4 and 5 and didn't know the difference. 😄 I am basing my start date on when Thanksgiving falls. We're doing a year-round schedule where we have an extra-long Christmas break and a shorter summer break, so we'll be off from the Monday before Thanksgiving until the first part of January. We also take a week off every 6 weeks and we're doing a 180-day schedule, so that put us starting in early July.

I was looking forward to starting Aug 3rd, but my dad just had one surgery and is scheduled for another surgery the first week of August. So, I've accepted that we will start back to homeschool on Sep 1.

We are starting Monday Aug 1st! I've been finishing up everything I need to get ready. Waiting for the last 2 things to come in, 2 student journals from TGTB for the Constitution course. It's currently in Miss on its way to Tn 😂

We are starting the third week in August, but my mom and step-dad have decided to come out the last week of August. They live in another state. I may start the first week in September because of that.

If I know I will have less science lessons then the other subjects, I just have less lessons per week so we can focus more on things my children might be struggling in.
