I knew you'd get a kick out of seeing Karl do the junior bungee :) That was an amazing reaction to it though, LOL. Yes, the Moby/Karl name switch was deliberate. I also did it with a Steve comparison in an earlier episode (might have been ep7 actually). The word you were searching for instead of 'unpresence' was 'absence' :) Thanks for the compliments, you are more than welcome as always. I've already done the first 10 mins of ep10, so will try and get that done by the weekend. My sleep patterns are all over the place. I've been awake all night but now that I've seen this, I can sleep :) It's only 12:45pm :) Fridays are just so much better now, and not because I'm doing the vids, but because of your reactions to the boys. Cats freak out before earthquakes because there are 2 types of waves that travel through the ground during an earthquake. The one that hits first is always faster but too subtle for people to notice without special equipment, than the "main" one that comes later, but cats can feel both.
@DovahFett9 ай бұрын
According to the Seismological Society of America, there is no hard evidence proving that cats can predict earthquakes, only anecdotal evidence. Likewise, it is currently unknown if cats really are more sensitive to things like tremors than humans, as no one has done the necessary experiments.

A few days ago I looked up this show, and Wikipedia says "Their show was broadcast from January to August 1998 from 4-6pm on Sundays, and only featured Gervais and Merchant (before their collaboration on The Office)." Because, Mandy's been watching the ones from 2001 - 2002 season. Now, granted, no Karl in the 1998 version, but the fact the show existed before we discovered the 2001 season. You guys, and America's south with no power during summer: "OH NO!" 😂... Well, us American northerners say the same thing during winter, from not being able to run heaters. 30 minute 0r gasm ... I envy pigs. 😂.... And then there's the cork screw ..... The things you learn every day. 😂 It always cheers me up and makes me happy to see Mandy laughing, especially when it's hard, long laughs. John Jones ... "If you don't know, that guy got his license revoked many times." .... I didn't know who John Jones was, at all. I had to look him up. Never heard of him. You're more into UFC than I am. ... See, this is what makes Mandy so cool. She's so open to different personality types, she's into rock, she's into UFC ... and one would think I would be more into UFC than her, and I live in the city where Rock & Roll was invented (even the Rock Hall is in my city) .... That's just some of what makes Mandy so cool! That, and she is SUPER pretty. Words cannot state how pretty she is!!! And if there WERE words, it STILL would not capture how pretty she is! She's just THAT pretty. .... (I do like the song "Head Games" by Foreigner, despite not liking Rock, in general - especially heavy metal 🤢. I guess light rock is better for me). His "absence" is what you were trying to say at the end.

The funny thing about Ricky mentioning how Fred Flinstone also wouldn't work as a human (like Barbie, ......on account of his body proportions), is that several years after this he went on to have the podcast made into the animated show, and they drew him to look almost exactly like Fred Flintstone with the same disproportionate features.

Mandy, I I think you asked what was "White van man". This refers to certain individuals, in traditionally working-class trades, who will let you know their views quite loudly, known to drive aggressively with little consideration for other road users. They will let you know their complaints and arguments.They are basically irate men on the street. Karl's straight-forwardness and bluntness resemble the stereotype, but Karl is loveable. He brings a smile to the face, warmth in the heart.
@garethm32429 ай бұрын
The "budgie" thing came up before for you, I think it was when reacting the the Ricky Gervais Show, again with Karl. Short for "budgerigar", which I only then learned *isn't* the word Americans use for these birds (parakeet over there?). But yeah very much budgies in the rest of the English speaking world it seems.

Thanks for this. Not at all surprised with Ricky saying we haven't planned anything for the show. And the show itself? Always a bunch of fun - but it did need the K Factor, Karl Pilkington. Perfect! I needed this for the start of my Friday. This is the beginning of the downfall of their XFM prizes too! They just mercilessly mock all the tickets they are provided to give away. They really don't give a sh*t! This is also the episode when they really start to establish the "Play a record" meme you've seen in your comments for years without understanding the context. Someone (Usually Karl) says something outrageous, funny, exciting or all of the above. "Play a record!" You heard it before in the XFM shows and even mentioned it, but that phrase will be stuck in you head for ever now and you'll want to say it every time someone makes a "Karl" statement!

I hope you would one day consider reacting to Stephen's HBO show "Hello Ladies" as well sometime in the future. It's basically just Stephen as himself in a kind of a "fish-out-of-water' type story as his character lives in Los Angeles, with a couple of "karl-like" and "Ricky-like" supporting characters. And it was only two or 3 seasons, so it would be a very quick reaction to get through.

For what it's worth, Geoffrey Boycott is one of the greatest English cricketers of all time who is also known for, I guess you could say, speaking his mind and being very direct. Dickie Bird is a former cricket umpire (match official) who has a more cuddly grandpa-type persona but, like Boycott, also hails from Yorkshire and speaks with a certain directness. Never expected the Jon Jones reference. Nice pull. He had been caught driving several times driving on suspended license in between each suspension and even while on probation for the hit and run. I've followed his escapades from the beginning, even before him totaling a Bentley by wrapping it around a telephone pole with two hookers whilst intoxicated in upstate NY. I don't need get into all his stuff, but as to his driving, there are so many incidents that were not covered by mma media or were confused for another similar event because it was happening so frequent. Jon Jones is a menace to society and the UFC refusing to hold him accountable after felony hit & run stopped me from buying anymore UFC ppv or tickets to live events.
