I began a diversified 403B in 1985 with employer match and since that time the DOW is up 31x. If I put that contribution in AU I'd be up 7x. That's a lot to give up. Not saying that gold/silver isn't a good investment but I would always want to stay well diversified. 80% all in one asset is just not a good idea to me. Right now I have a separate brokerage account for metal ETF's, miners, plus a little bit in IBIT for a crypto position. I'm happy piddling around at 7% of my net worth.

@@maneco64 I have been buying Silver Proof £1 coins recently. I've a few different 1oz coins and I've been collecting our old Pre 1947 coins as well. It's strange to me that people will tell you that there is no Silver Sovereign ( I have one. A real silver sovereign with George and the Dragon on one side and the Queen on the other, it's 925 Silver and it was bought from the London Mint. As Sovereign coins , the gold ones are £1 coins then why is it that the Silver Proof £1 coins are not recognised as Silver Sovereign coins when they technically are, besides the design and of course they are not gold but still they are, or were legal tender and say One Pound on the coin. It's just something that I have been curious about since I googled Silver Sovereign and was told there's no such thing and I was probably mistaken and was looking at a Crown. This is not the case, besides the £1 Silver proof coins I am talking about I really do have a Silver Sovereign.

Mario, here’s something interesting. If you take the median family income after taxes and inflation, this income is actually going down. It is currently around $27,000. So while income goes higher, your purchasing power is going lower. There is no denying that they are repricing the labor market for better or worse to align with the reset of the economy from the Bretton Woods system to this new multi-polar system being led by China.

Not only did they create the fed, in the middle of the night without a legal Quorum; they established the IRS. Most people think their income tax is paid to the US government corporation. It is not. It goes to the federal reserve. The IRS was created as the collection agency for the federal reserve; not US government, inc. The federal reserve is a private corporation with private shareholders. Hi there, I know that you are a Brit living in Switzerland and I want to ask about how to lodge a complaint. I recently experienced a tourist trap about Swiss railway (SBB) who tend to indiscriminately fine passengers who activated the Swiss pass just a little bit late with excessive fine. I was handed a 158 CHF fine ticket by the ticket controller without even asking me any question (e.g. if it was I first time). Later, I found out the abusive habit of SBB ticket controllers from many internet groups and decided to make an in-person trip to the SBB office to complain (as the SBB tel line is always engaged). The funny thing was the staff in SBB office after hearing my case immediately and apologetically reduced my fine to 0 CHF (only 30CHF for admin fee). Instead of having time to sight-seeing, I spend a lot of my time in Switzerland complaining to SBB. This not only wasted a lot of my time but leave a really bad taste in my mouth. Any idea how I can complain it to the senior management of SBB?

regarding taxes, here PMs are subject to "consumption tax" of 10 percent. Mario knows the PM prices in yen. Slap 10% on that and who can afford to stack. On top of that they are subject to cap gains. I live in South East Asia. I quit (mandatory) contribution to social security fund as soon as I was qualified to leave and withdrew my money out of that fund. I absolutely agree with you. I am not a fan of socialism.

If the Treasury's borrowing requirement continues to expand dramatically, then the Fed will have no choice but to monetize it at a much higher level (especially if a global war breaks out), since I doubt there will be many foreign takers. I suspect this will force yield curve control to avoid federal government bankruptcy from rapidly rising rates. So you might be right that interest rate cuts won't happen anytime soon, but with the next leg up in inflation makes it moot, since the real rate of interest will be plummeting.
