Very interesting and informative video. I personally think these 3 or 5 month validity passport rules are frankly very ridiculous. I very recently was travelling from the UK to Germany and was denied from checking in at airport because according to the airline staff at the airport, my passport had less than 3 months left on it (my passport had a little over 2 months left on it) and I was only travelling from the UK to Germany for 3 days ie going on Friday and coming back on Sunday, so why wouldn't u be allowed to travel. These rules are pretty ridiculous and pointless because my ticket clearly shows that I was only going for a very short trip and on return, my passport was still valid for at least two months, so even if for one reason or another, something happened in Germany and I couldn't come back to the UK, l still had a little over 2 months left on my passport. These passport rule are frankly very ridiculous. In fact, what these rules mean now is that, most passports which have 3 or 6 months left on them are totally useless, because one cannot travel with them. My question is that what is the point of a passport if it cannot be used when it has 3 or 6 months left depending on the country.

@@bilkham I ended up renewing my passport before going to be safe. I went to one of those offices where you can get a new passport same day. They can turn you away if it expires in under 6 months (US Passport)

Yes, you can travel with your American passport right away! If you were an Indian citizen before you naturalized, you will have to officially renounce your Indian citizenship before you can get a visa for India.

Ihad the very same question. If airlines say this 6 months rule is important then they should make it clear. 6 months validity for me has two interpretation. 1. 6 months validity from the date of issue. 2. 6 months validity until the expire date. I bought a ticket already and I will need to pay more money to change my booking because of them.
