I was very moved by you and your family's story - it is very much like the story of my parents' families who fled the Russian Revolution and were stateless for many years. My mother's family moved from Russia to Malta to Italy to Germany and finally to Belgium, but they remained stateless. My mother studied in England and finally naturalized British.

Excellent documentary......admiration for your parents who knew the significance of stressing the importance of the arts and unification of family and friends. Happy that you found a home in Canada, sorry it could not have been here in the U.S. Am curious, if you miss your birth land and feel any connection whatsoever; if you have or will ever do any music with an Iranian flair; and if you are a proud Muslim?

My parents were married in Berlin just after WWII where they conceived me. I was born in London but we moved to Switzerland when I was just a baby, and where I grew up. I was moved to an English school in third grade, not speaking a word of English. I tried living in England where I was born, but it never felt like home. I finally obtained the Swiss nationality when I was almost 40 years old, and Switzerland now is my home and country, but I will always be Russian.
Hey Maneli! I loved this video, I can't believe I hadn't found it before. It helped me to understand more things about your music, specially about this album. Speaking of, The Lamaj Movement is definitely my favorite album of yours. I love each one of the songs as a unique piece, and as a part of something bigger, which is the story that you're telling. The thing is, I can't listen to many of its songs on Spotify, specifically from Awakening to Klingerstrasse. I think that they're only available in some parts of the world. I don't know how those things work, but I was wondering if there's any chance of releasing those songs on Spotify in South America too (I'm from Argentina🇦🇷). I would really really love that. Anyway, I send you all my best wishes as I always do🤗 Keep enlightening our lives with your music!

Thanks for sharing your thoughts! That is weird you don't have access to those songs as they should be available worldwide.

Powerful. Unreal just how much I take for granted. The struggles families have to go thru to, to just have an opportunity, to pursue their dreams. Where possibility exists, and dreams can, and, do come true, If we use that thing that separates us and makes us human. The “super-power” we all possess. The human spirit. The spirit, when activated, energized, and set in motion in pursuit of any good thing that we have a burning desire to obtain. The thing that is the 1st and the last thing we think of every day. We imagine ourselves and our lives and how it feels to have “it”. Dreams pursued with every fiber of our being, indefatigable determination & desire sets in motion universal energies to bring to us that which we desire. The spirit will never give up. Sadly, I have been feeling sorry for myself, being lazy, taking no steps to help me, and hoping and praying my life will miraculously get better. I have the opportunity that millions, and, possibly billions of people never get, or that die trying to get the chance at something I waste daily. My life is my responsibility. It’s so easy to blame society, my former boss, my health, blah, blah…but, deep down, I know, my spirit knows, I am not a victim. Thank you and your family for never quitting.
