yeh it was the same as last time, loads of oil on the floor and in the air! VFD is fine, it just triggered its internal current overload, turning it off and on again resets it

My mate has an air compressor and torpedo under it lol, it would pump upto 150psi ok but pop the breaker on restarting, it turned out to be muck in the one way tank valve, so it leaked back to the compressor. he got it dirt cheap as the owner thought the motor was buggered. It was the first time i had taken an air compressor to bits, simple things. The unloader does a good snake impression, SSSSSSSSsssssssss.......lol Your teachings have tought me a lot, thanks ed :-)

awesome!, been waiting for this for years!, I thought it had died!

it was blowing oil vapor out, unfortunatly the drive did not have the guts to take it beyond 102Hz, the compressor was fine but the drive just gave up :(

Great pre run for the final motor burn out. in one of your next video's. That is a nice VFD you have there.
@Aussie5012 жыл бұрын
rotaries run too hot and burn themselves out on long runs, you can still use it tho, just for very short runs. plus the oil top up has to go into the compressor housing via the discharge port on top.

Ah, thanks for letting me know. I thought that was smoke coming out, as it seemed to just gently wisp out like smoke does from a motor getting hot. :-D Also...I've just noticed after re-watching the vid that you have put that big 3ph socket on the output of the VFD. Super YAY. :-) It looks much better & safer than a bunch of wires hanging out of it. Nice job on the wiring for the VFD. :-) Thanks for showing, -BoomBoxDeluxe.

I've seen a few indies go free to play across the web, even the guy who made Binding of Isaac said he did not care if ppl pirated it, he just wanted it to be played! not like big companies like EA that spend millions trying to stop it!

More HVAC Compressors!!, I liked the destruction on these when you had the old camera!

I wonder how a standard 50/60hz refrigeration system would perform on a VFD, would have to be a large VFD but would be interesting!

amigo quiero saber si funciona como un compresor de nevera? por un lado entra el aire y por otro sale?

Always liked these compressors, not had the chance to cut one open yet! They look similar to the Climatuff compressors and i wonder if they are a licenced design. Great vid! Would love to get myself a vfd and speed things up till they threw a rod or something! expect that comp was doing 6000rpm at 100hz!

Ah, this brings back memories of when you screamed-up that black scroll compressor with the top removed, & it started billowing out masses of thick oil mist, & afterwards, there was this oily haze hanging around in the workshop that took a long time to shift. :-D Is the VFD OK? It looks like it has shut down for some reason. I hope you didn't pop it! Thanks for showing, -BoomBoxDeluxe.

Well it is actually a bit different, he actually directly links to the torrent on his webpage and uses the piratebay logo, haven't seen any other indies do that yet.

It almost sounded like a engine blow,even the fast stop,like a thrown rod :P ,can you tell me if a compressor like this could be run at 100 hz all the time? would it have problems keeping up ?

Oh and Aussie, your McPixel recommendation went piratebay, legally piratebay if you check his website. Such an awesome developer having such a mindset, quite unique actually.

Was that smoke or just oil vapour it was spitting out? I'd like to think it was smoke - that at a mere 102Hz it surrendered. :D
