I recently changed the side of my parting, it took me a good 10 or so years for a barber to tell me I should try parting from the other side because of my crown orientation. Ever since I’ve found my hair so much more easy to maintain and manageable...it just works!

That is absolutely wild to me because it’s just not an option which way I part my hair. Although it really depends on the exact length of your hair whether you can part it various lengths, mine stays in the middle where it just has to go the way it wants

It sees like an obvious topic, but whether you style it to the left or right can drastically change your hairstyle. I go left to right (my natural flow) when it's short, and also because it's too difficult to make short hair go against the natural direction lol. When it's longer at like 4 inches I go right to left as my hair looks super full and for volume.

Robin James Can you do a vid on short hairstyles? I've noticed recently the trend is moving away from partings (at least for casual, everyday looks), more to a straight/flat top with a fringe, not unlike styles from the 90's.

My problem is, some of the hair at the front of my head seems to naturally grow in the opposite direction. my hair is parted from left to right but it seems like the front hairs want to go from right to left . I've also noticed that this make my hair a little more "see through" at the hairline when standing under a bright light. What should I do in this case? Go with the swirl at the crown and fight the front, or fight the crown and comb in the direction the hair goes at the front?

I'm a woman, and your video really helped me. I've wanted to change my right side parting to the left side of my head because it would expose my face's left side, which is more symmetrical. I was reluctant to change it because it seems women wear right-side partings while men have left-side partings. So, your video helped me see it doesn't matter how you part your hair, which is the confidence I needed.
@farawayfromworld
@farawayfromworld 6 ай бұрын
It really matters how you part your hair! That theory of female and male hair part is totally wrong. If the left side of your face looks better, it means you should make a hair part on the left side. Also, left side of body is controlled by the right side of brain, which have all female traits, so if you like more your left side of body, it means you're feminine. Everything you do on your left side of body is controlled by the right side of brain, so does a hair part

What if my swirl swirls from right to left anticlockwise but my bangs area grows left to right? When my hair is unstyled, it falls pin stright down covering my brows . But the bangs area is generally flatter when i style it left to right

I have a double crown heheh but I have no trouble styling my hair, I style it left to right usually when I want a flatter more square hair style but that is the direction of growth, so when I want volume I style right to left for a higher volume style.

Thanks bro I didn't know which way to go before I watched this I never knew if I should keep it the way it I put it (which is the opposite of the way it grows) or if I should put it to its natural side Thanks again Robin!!!😃👋🏻👍🏻💇🏻‍♂️👦🏻

Hey Robin, have you considered an 'off-centered' part hairstyle? Maybe you could do a tutorial on it if you haven't yet? I think it would look really good on you, it'll go well with the stache!

a great video once again! My hair grows from left to right. Do you tell your barber to cut your hair in a way that allows you to style it in both directions? because my hair on the left side of my head is much longer than it is on the right side of my head (i have a side part on the left side thats why). Would be intersting to know because I realised that styling it against the way it grows gives much more volume, too. Thank you!

also, can you do a review on the label.m matte paste? Thought you had one but did not find it, it seems to be a great product, i did not realize until now. Seems to be comparable to morris motley (at least when it comes to texture and price haha). That would indeed be an interesting review or brand battle to watch :)

Hey, you can ask your barber, yes. One side of mine sits better because of the cut.

If my cowlick in the back goes clockwise should I do left to right or right to left? I’ve done right to left for the longest time without even knowing which is the best way for it to go.
