Welcome back. By the way, remember when I told you was about to study film and video at my university and I once had potential? Well, I have come to realize that not only it was harder than I thought to make films but it seems that throughout my first two years of university, I felt somewhat pessimistic as I can't seem to write essays about film theory and math well. It is as if there is a limit on how much my brain can handle such work. For my unsatisfactory grades to enter the program twice, I later decided that this career isn't worth the risk of my parents' and the taxpayer's money and was thinking of transferring to a different and cheaper university so I could study in a trade or a more practical skill even though I also wanted to study music composition. I just have physical and mental inconsistencies due to my social disability. I just have no idea which career I should go while maintaining my mental and physical health.

It's something challenging, always remember that and always tackle something as best as you can. Getting ideas from other places goes a long way to helping as well. I know what you mean though, the physics behind lighting is a bit of a bore to study but has to be done, other than that, I love the practical hands on. As for studying into something that is achievable? Photography is because it's based on practical, you just need to be hardworking and be able to complete the assessments. Always go with something you feel most comfortable with, something you enjoy, so it really all depends. Photography is the next best thing and doesn't require the same stuff as you would through TV Operations, I hope this helps :)

Hello Scott, do you think this ballhead would work good for panning while making a video? like when following a bird fly.

I think this one is more for adjusting and because when you pull the trigger it can twist around circular and isn't fixed horizontally and vertically, perhaps not for video in panning shots. I suppose it depends as I've never used it for that myself. Another head I've got is the Manfrotto MH055M8 pan head, it's really fluid for video. It also has photo function to use it for photography, but best for video.

Sorry for the late response, this tripod head is rotational so you can pan, although, not useful for video. It can also rotate so you can put your camera into portrait and the stick allows you to twist rotate forward so you can face the camera down as you wish. So yes, it is very handy for that. Very useful for still life photography.
