What tripod do you use and what do you think is the best tripod for a youtuber?! Let's meet up here in the comments to discuss!

Great review mate! I'm in the market for a small video pod. I have the larger 504 or whatever the numbers are for it lol. It's a great base for the heavier setups and really fluid shots, but a pain to carry around. This one looks good, although I don't know if I need the air craft materials and would rather reduce the price for a bit heavier setup. Anyway excellent review, nicely produced and great info.

Totally agree, the aluminium version would be just fine. The main advantage of the 'cx' version (carbon) is the ultra light design so it doubles as a great travelling tripod where you need to save weight. Thanks for watching as always!

I must say that you do a VERY good job with your reviews. I have a cheap tripod that I got a a camcorder yrs ago and I also have a Joby that's not too bad. What I need is time and energy to record; it's been very tough lately. Anyways, I appreciate the video and thanks for sharing!

Thank you for your review! It was very informative and helped determine the right model for me is the MT190XPRO3 Aluminum. I will be shooting mostly indoors so I prefer the 3-section and the extra weight is no biggie.

Glad I could be of service! They 3 stage is great too. Really any in that line of MT...PRO series are really well made.

@@rodrrico Hey, quick update. I ended up going with the MT055XPRO3 055, which is the stronger version of the MT190XPRO3. My research revealed some people expressed concern about the payload when using the horizontal column with the Manfrotto 502 video head. Again, I'm shooting indoors so the weight and length isn't an issue. Anyway, thanks for your help!

I don’t think the ‘music’ adds anything to your presentation. In fact it is a distraction for those of us who are hearing impaired as, for some reason, we hear distractions louder than speech. The content is valuable. Thanks

Sorry that the music appears too loud for you in this review. My more recent reviews should hopefully be balanced better. Either way, I am taking note to keep the voice 'info' louder for future videos. I appreciate your honest feedback. Thanks for watching!

@@danieljohansson6334 Oh I would have loved to pursue music as a profession. I do enjoy composing and playing music, but alas, no they are just my hobby these days. My bread and butter is film making (broadcast TV mainly). I don't think I'll ever stop playing music though. Maybe watch my latest video all about microphones, I have some buttery footage sprinkled throughout of a good friend playing a grand piano. Thanks for subscribing! Nice review! Can you lock the center column when it's in the 90° position? Thanks!

Yes, there's a little knob on the side to stop it from rotating or slipping.

The extra height is good for bino's and straight spotting scopes; for overhead viewing of the constellation.

Spotting scope is what I’m going to use it for. Guy near me selling it for £90 including a 410 geared head. Says it cost him around £700, but the geared head will be replaced by fluid.

Thanks for this review. I am seriously considering one of these now. I have a 755CX3 which is great for levelling but I am keen to do some top down shoots. Would love to know what lighting kit you are using there also.

Whenever I look at buying expensive camera equipment, longevity must come into play. For me, I know the tripod is well built and should last me potentially decades, so it's an investment. The lights in the video are cheap JYLED-160T with a small Aputure AL-M9 illuminating the car models in the background. Thanks for watching - and thank you so much for subscribing! New reviews very very soon!

thanks for the review, I am trying to find a clear answer whether the center column can be inserted upside down?

No, the centre column cannot be fully removed and therefore cannot be placed upsidedown. Thank you for watching and for your feedback :)

i still use an old Manfrotto 155prob. I think the leg angle mechanism is the same as this one. But, I can't use the middle 2 angles. I can only open the legs flat, or at their minimum spread position. What am i doing wrong?

can anyone recommend and mount for this tripod because the screw that comes with the tripod is way to big for my camera

A good review but you don't say anything about the difficulty to put the central column back in place after having used it on the horizontal configuration. My first tripod got out of its groove and I had to have it exchanged because the repair service didn't help... it kinda exploded out again although being very gentle with it. So a great tripod, YEST... but with a very tricky column system which should not be ignored. The solution: align the two arrows (look carefully for them... nothing obvious here).
@rodrrico10 ай бұрын
You're right. I didn't mention that as I hadn't had much difficult with that. Though it can get a little 'sticky'. Not a deal breaker for me though.

any difference betwen this and the 190 carbon fiber?
@rodrrico5 жыл бұрын
Depends which 190 you are talking about. The 190go is notably different. differnt clips for leg extension, different feet + head thread / operational range (in degrees). MT055CXPRO4 is a great all rounder.
@randomrazr5 жыл бұрын
this one: 190CXPRO4
@rodrrico5 жыл бұрын
So there are two main differences, weight and max operating height. The MT055CXPRO4 can handle 9kg / 19.8ib and max height of 66.9" / 169.9cm while the 190cxpro4 can only handle 7kg / 15.4 lb and max height is 160cm / 63". So basically the MT055CXPRO4 is the bigger brother of the two. Hope that helps clear it up!

Hey mate, if you have the time... wondering how you're supposed to use it with the centre column horizontal (because the head is now vertical). Do you just use it with a ballhead? I was just hoping to get it as low as I can with a slider, but the centre column prevents it going very low.
@rodrrico5 жыл бұрын
With a slider you want to use it in tandum with another MT055CXPRO4. In other words, use two tripods and mount them on each end of the slider. The reason being that the MT055CXPRO4 with ballhead is unlikely to support the weight and balance well if mounted centred to a slider. Is that what you were asking?
@tim38545 жыл бұрын
@@rodrrico I kind of blended two questions lol sorry about that. first, I don't understand how you're meant to attach a camera to the horizontal centre column, as the mount is now vertical, so you're camera is in a portrain position. Second, I wondered if it's possible to use thetripod without the centre column, mounting it straight to the top of the tripd base where the legs join. so as to get very low. I appreciate your fast reply btw, thanks mate!
@rodrrico5 жыл бұрын
@@tim3854 ok so from what I gather, you want to mount the tripod to a slider but very low to the ground - perhaps lower than the centre column allows. I don't think it can easily be removed, nor would I advise doing so. Generally if you need a slider lower than the absolute minimum height if this tripod, I would recommend just balancing the slider on a solid surface or two pelican cases or something like that. The ball head should be able to support most sliders if say mounted at one end and the other end of the slider is at a 45 degree angle balancing on a hard surface. I hope that helps. If not you can hit me up on Twitter as I interact and chat on there quite a bit (DMs). Twitter: Rodrrico

am i the only one breaking the red base of the tripod everytime i want to switch to top shot? this critical part is so poorly built
@rodrrico3 жыл бұрын
I find it only wants to go out in exactly one position, if you try and force it, then that can lead to damage. Have a look at the exact spot where it wants to easily move in and out of the horizontal position. Best of luck, thanks for watching!
