Thanks Matt, but there is one problem. Black garments behind black products make the products virtually disappear. You need a lighter colored shirt/jacket.

Matt, nice review on the Pixie. Wish you all the best with the new website. It was a pleasure meeting in Toronto for the photo walk. Sorry for the cold weather:)

Hey Matt. I bought one of these for my trip to Europe. And so far it has worked perfectly. Most of the time its been used with the x100s and a few times with the d800 + 85mm 1.8 and it has hold up good. Well worth the investment. Take care.

If I may recommend, the Joby Gorillapod Focus is pretty good. It is tiny, and during a past vacation, I managed to use it in some tight areas where a full sized tripod will not fit. Also with a Gorillapod, you can probably bring it into places they don't allow a full sized tripod.

I've been using a Cullman 'Magnesit Copter' with the CB2 ball head. It is pretty much the same idea as the Manfrotto pixie. Just different industrial design. It's strong enough for my 6D and for my iPhone I have the Glif iPhone holder.

I bought two of these based on this review. One for the X100s and another for a speed light. Awesome product, thanks, Matt!

Matt, how does this compare with Gorillapods? I have one and just looking at this video I think I can see how each might have their advantages over the other (Gorillapod seems more versatile, this seems easier to set up level) but I'd like to hear your opinion.

Hi Matt, I was going to order one on Amazon, but if you have a link that would benefit you, I'll order it there. Thanks for all the great vids.

It is perfect to push it sideways over a table, for example if you're shooting video. To provide a slide effect. That is, with a smaller camera. I've done it with a D 7100. Result was really good.

Also a good stand for my speedlight!

Quick question; I want to buy one, but I use RRS; can I remove the pad, and put a QR plate on there, or is the pad permanent?

it's also handy for wireless flash to give fill light, or as a low backlight

BTW, I think it's a "Manfrotto Pixi" without the E.

Will it hold a canon 7d with a 70-200mm f2.8 II lens?
@AndrewGrieco8 жыл бұрын
Yes, it holds pretty well yet depending on the lens and camera angle, could start to creep out of position.

Nice mini review Matt, except for the lighting. Please work on that. The products were very dark. Also you were wearing black an the items were black.. Thanks, bud.
