One series that I didn’t see in there that I thought you might like: Mysterious Girlfriend X. Though it has that controversial beginning, the rest of the series is actually quite wholesome and really doesn’t focus on that aspect much at all. Appealing art alongside a cute rom-com. It does have some ecchi elements, but the heart of the series is more of a wholesome one than that of a “pervert” like most series with fanservice. The series’ great omnibuses were just re-printed not too long ago, so it shouldn’t be too difficult to find. I hope you enjoy!😊

Hi Ryley! This is my first comment in 15 years of being on youtube (since 2007) and I just want to say how much inspiration you give me for collecting manga myself. You took your time to create a long detailed video so I want to show my appreciate with a long comment. I wish there was a way I could see your entire reading/read list (similar to myanimelist). Would be great just to follow along and see more detail, even if you don't want to share your score! I watched the entire video and didn't see Wotakoi and Vanitas in your collection (albeit on 1.5 speed so I might have missed it). Firstly, I would highly recommend Wotakoi (Kodansha). I'm similar to you as my preferred genre is for shonen, however Wotakoi hit me like a breath of fresh air as a fun (Josei) slice of life comedy about every day working adults and their shame/pride of enjoying otaku culture. I guess why it struck me more than others applying the same trope was because I experienced a similar thing growing up with friends and family thinking that manga/anime was "weird", and I'm only starting to feel more comfortable now as I get older as a working class adult. The series has finished and only has 5 volumes so it's an easy read. Would love to hear your thoughts about it (no offense if you don't like it!) Secondly, I would also highly recommend Vanitas (Square Enix). I must admit that I was first introduced through the anime which I thought was gorgeous. Then when I read the manga, the art was even more beautiful than I expected. The story is set in Paris 19th century and centers around a supposed 'Doctor' who can cure Vampires, but the story is so much more complex than that. The author takes you on a fantasy journey with the main character saving lives whilst rejecting any attempt from others to save himself. The story is still a shonen manga at heart, but also deals with comedy, friendship, selfworth, and despair. The story is ongoing and there are currently 8 english volumes out now. Thanks for reading my comment and thanks for sharing your awesome collection!

Nice collection! I hope to one day have a manga room half as grand as this haha. I have a couple suggestions for some really good manga that you may want to check out! 1) My main suggestion would be My Monster Secret by Eiji Masuda. It's a shonen romcom which ended back in 2017 and it is genuinely my favorite in the genre. The gags are incredibly funny and I love how the author uses repetition and callbacks of specific gags (in a good way), but modifies the situation or context slightly to change how the joke applies and keeps things fresh. It also does a fantastic job with a romance that has actual emotional payoffs and a progression throughout the series. The characters are all extremely loveable, and when you get the the end you might shed a tear or two saying goodbye to all of them haha. It is an absolutely amazing series and probably one of my favorite (if not my absolute favorite) manga. The main issue is some early volumes are out of print (and probably will not be reprinted), so you'll have to go used for those. Volumes 4 and 7 (I think?) are the hardest to get. I got my copies through a manga trading group on facebook for a very reasonable price, so just be prepared for that. Absolutely worth it though. 2) Pandora Hearts by Jun Mochizuki (this author also wrote The Case Study of Vanitas). I feel like you would have this one but I didn't see it in the video, apologies if I missed it. It's a action/mystery? series about a boy who is cast into a place called the abyss by a group of mysterious hooded figures, and ends up forming a contract with a girl named Alice to escape. He then aims to find out why he was cast into the abyss, as well as help Alice discover her past memories which she has lost. The art for this is also really pretty. It's a bit hard to find some of the normal volumes, but you can currently get the box set from Yen Press's website for a good price, It has 12 omnibus volumes in it which are super pretty. Honestly, the box set is probably the coolest box set I've ever seen, it's feels like a chest and is really well made. I definitely recommend it! 3) Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun. This one is actually a shonen (despite what the name may make you think lol) 4-koma comedy manga. I don't have as much to say about this one since the focus is really the comedy rather than any story or romance, but the characters are pretty likeable, and the antics Nozaki and his friends get up to will probably make you laugh. I think these are all still pretty easy to get. 4) Wotakoi! You've probably heard of this one before, it's a Josei romcom that takes place with adults in the workplace. In a world of high school romcoms I find it to be pretty refreshing--the characters are all pretty mature (with some room to grow still haha) too. Still easy to get these volumes too since it is fairly recent. After writing this out I scrolled down a bit and saw another person recommending both Wotakoi and Vanitas (same author as Pandora Hearts) so glad to see there are others like me out there haha. Hopefully this is somewhat helpful and (if you get any of these) you really enjoy them! Best of wishes on the manga collecting.

@@nano6790 I read 16 chapters of My Monster Secret today and I'm really liking it! The first 5 chapters were quite silly but the more I read, the more I loved the goofiness and gags! I''m able to find physical copies of Pandora Hearts though so I'm looking forward to getting my hands on it soon!

That collection is incredible. I’ve been collecting mangas for six years, and even much, much longer because I started getting them for the first time in 2011 when a friend gave me a Naruto manga. As far as my collection now, I have all of Naruto, all the current volumes of Boruto, all of Fullmetal Alchemist, Dragon Ball, all the current omnibuses of One Piece, a few volumes of Bleach, Burn The Witch, all of Yu Yu Hakusho, all the currently made volumes of Hunter x Hunter, every single Yu-Gi-Oh! volume as well as all the spin-off mangas of it, I’m working on finishing Rurouni Kenshin, I have all the current ones for My Hero Academia, the two volumes of Barrage, all the current volumes of One-Punch Man, all of Dr. Stone, Food Wars, Assassination Classroom, Demon Slayer, The Promised Neverland, all the current volumes of Jujutsu Kaisen, some of Slam Dunk, Haikyu, D.Gray-Man, Claymore, Chainsaw Man, Spy x Family, Kaiju No. 8, Shaman King, Toriko, Gintama, Blue Exorcist, Undead Unluck, all of the current volumes of Black Clover, all of Death Note, the first volumes of all the JoJo parts so far, some of Inuyasha and Yashahime, some of Black Lagoon and Sailor Moon, all of Fairy Tail, The Seven Deadly Sins, some of Vagabond as well as all the Colossal Editions of Attack On Titan and all the Deluxe Editions of Berserk. I’m hoping to get a box set for Tokyo Ghoul and Tokyo Ghoul: Re. A good amount of these were hard to get since some weren’t sold where I am, I had to order some series from America like Yu Yu Hakusho, Shaman King, Toriko and Gintama. I like to have all my Shonen Jump mangas together and I personally prefer getting omnibus versions of manga so a lot of the ones I listed are in 3 in 1 omnibus editions. I wish a lot more had omnibuses, but I’m still super happy with my collection and can’t wait to get more. I also have a lot of these as anime DVDs and Blu-Rays and many other like all the Studio Ghibli movies, Code Geass and so much more. I also have a ton of different anime character collectibles from series like Naruto, One Piece, Dragon Ball, Bleach, Yu Yu Hakusho, Hunter x Hunter, My Hero Academia and many others.

I didnt see it anywhere, so i will recommend Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun. It's a comedy yonkoma about a rather stoic boy who is the mangaka of a shoujo manga. The female lead falls in love for him, and tries to confess her love, but due to her shyness and Nozaki's stoic nature, they end up working together on the manga. The manga has really fun moments, specially for people who like drawing, shoujo tropes, otomes, dating sims and such related media.

Massive props and congrats on getting the collection where you wanted it to be to film a new video! Even the book count aside, I can see the strides you've made with your own personal collecting goals, whether its completing the Shonen Sunday line, expanding your horizons on some shojo series, etc... Curious if you've noticed any major downgrades with any older series you've bought reprints of (esp shonen or popular shojo series) that were printed in Italy vs NA? I don't have any examples in my collection to go off from, but the new prints seem so much thinner due to paper quality which is a shame. Seeing the new MHA box set is like night and day... Also made me happy to see the small handful of series I mentioned in your last video like PSME or The Girl From the Other Side now on your shelf (even if I was months late to that and definitely not the first person to recommend them by then haha). And the whole "loving recommendations" thing goes both ways! I know there are definitely a few series I sought out after watching these tours that I either hadn't heard of before or completely forgot existed (i.e. Summit of the Gods, Blue Giant, a bunch of classics I forgot were newly published, etc...) If I had any more to reiterate from the last video or add, while forcing myself to stick with less than five: - Blank Canvas: My So-Called Artist's Journey - My first recommendation based on your collection. Princess Jellyfish mangaka's semi-autobiographical story, and one of my all-time favorites. - Any of Kaoru Mori's work - I personally enjoy A Bride's Story more than Emma, but both are gorgeously illustrated additions to the historical fiction genre. - In This Corner of the World - The movie is fantastic as well, the manga just has more side stories and introspection that wasn't possible to tackle with the anime. - The Case Study of Vanitas - Vampire manga usually doesn't work for me, but Vanitas' perfectly balanced genre-mix of action/drama/fantasy/mystery/horror/etc... reminds me so much of early-mid FMA just with more romance elements. I also think some of the issues I had with the author's earlier work Pandora Hearts seem more ironed out with this one. Also YES, while there are so many series I'd want to see reprinted, Umineko might be close to the top of that list. It's one of my all-time favorite visual novels (next to The House in Fata Morgana), but its hard to revisit the story in that format vs the manga haha

I have 411 volumes of manga and it's interesting just to see what other people have and compare collections. One series that I own that wasn't in this video that I highly recommend The Masterful Cat is Depressed again, Today which is a really good slice of life comedy (that's getting an anime sometime next year BTW). Shout out to Ramen Wolf & Curry Tiger, Shangri-La Frontier, Ragna Crimson, and Monotone Blue getting shown off in the video.

Incredible collection. I do highly recommend you get some LED light strips for the undersides of your shelves though, it'd make the spines much easier to read.

If you don’t have it already I highly recommend reading Rust Eater Bisco,a anime of came out earlier this year and they’ve been releasing the light novel and it’s definitely worth a read, there are 3 volumes out so far.

Stoked to hear that Cat-Eyed Boy is getting a reprint. I've had vol. 2 for years (my ex had vol.1), but assumed I would just never get my own copy of that first volume.

I also would recommend a manga which gets published/released in 1-2 days! (Name: Tokyo Alien). I have read it in german and it's still ongoing. The first volume in english is getting released in 1-2 days. It's more like a fighting manga and the artstyle is beautiful.

Wow, this collection is incredible! Also I'm a little jealous because some of USA's editions looks so sick or you have some volumes that in EU are just gone or never had a good edition. I've got only one suggestion, since I read it should have an omnibus soon, you should give a try to Innocent, I found out about it random and I've absolutely loved it

I always enjoy your tours, a great way to find new recommendations. Have you ever considered getting custom shelves for an entire library room instead of the ikea sets ?

As someone who has been reading about as long as you parts of you tour are such a trip down memory lane. I got rid of my physical manga about 8 years ago and this makes me miss them so much.

I have a relative small collection of manga and really want to collect more. My first manga set that I got was the Zelda manga which i love alot and they are in pretty good condition. I also have vinland saga vol 1, demon slayer vol 1, db 3 in 1 book, berserk vol 2-3 (the 1 was sold alot at the time i saw from the store), parasyte vol 1 and chainsaw man vol 1. hoping my collection can get bigger and get more mainstream as well as smaller mangas.

I don’t think you have it but you should really check out Blood on the Tracks since I’m halfway thru the vid, it’s very surreal story about the psychological impacts a parent can have on a child

You need Basilisk in there. It’s the mature readers ninja story you need for your library.
