Don't act dumb. It's been seven years since she moved away. Then when she comes back she ambushed him in front of the whole class. That's enough to make anybody defensive. Especially since it automatically makes him public enemy number one with the guys and alienates him from what friends he may have had. That's not cool. That would be like an old friend rolling up to your house with an army of patched out bikers with him. You wouldn't be blamed for strapping on a gun and taking a defensive posture until you had a chance to figure out what he was up to would you?
