As an American, I was introduced to Mango Groove in 1994 thru a beautiful redheaded South African woman. We fell in love and almost got married. Sadly, it didn't work out but the music of Mango Groove has stayed with me over the years and here I am at 56 yo still listening to it today! Thank you Shan for the memories and thank you Mango Groove for the beautiful music! ♥️

Have a similar story....was introduced to it by a South African man I was madly in love with at university. Sadly our relationship wasn't meant to be but now at 53 I still listen to this wonderful band and the fabulous Claire. Even had Southern Sky for the first dance at my wedding and my husband loves it too.

As a white South African, I have often questioned the validity of my Africaness in a country I have lived my whole life post apartheid, there is still a lot of divide around me when I return home,, what I can say is that I feel the liberation in 94 wasn't only for the black africans but for humankind as a whole. Songs like this one make me feel more connected to everyone and a country that is my home and I pray for this energy for all as its the only way to heal. That is all

Once apon a time there was music in Africa. And then there came American version where our artists change their accent and what remain will be the blood that runs through their veins since even their appearance will be American as well. Anyway we had good artists like this ones that we can shine through.
