As an American, I was introduced to Mango Groove in 1994 thru a beautiful redheaded South African woman. We fell in love and almost got married. Sadly, it didn't work out but the music of Mango Groove has stayed with me over the years and here I am at 56 yo still listening to it today! As a white South African, I have often questioned the validity of my Africaness in a country I have lived my whole life post apartheid, there is still a lot of divide around me when I return home,, what I can say is that I feel the liberation in 94 wasn't only for the black africans but for humankind as a whole. Songs like this one make me feel more connected to everyone and a country that is my home and I pray for this energy for all as its the only way to heal. That is all
