Create a simple Celtic band ring for 3D printing. We learn how to curve a sketch along the rings surface created from a repeating array for the Celtic pattern. We learn how the workbenches flow together using the part workbench to create a simple ring, the curves workbench to refine that ring into a better shape wrapping a slot sketch around the curved surface, extruding or padding out this sketch and cutting it away from the cylinders leaving a nice ring, bangle or ear cuff shape. We the use a Celtic knot work pattern from a jpeg that has been converted to a SVG via inkscape using the trace bitmap tool and section out part of the pattern for us to repeat. With the draft workbench we learn how to isolate, remove and repeat via an array parts of the vectors geometry. This is then converted to a sketch and mapped across the ring surface to create the final pocket. If your looking to make Cosplay/ costume / film prop jewellery or looking to design your own this tutorial is easy on the beginner and gets you up and running very quickly.
