As a 7th Grade trumpet player, this gives me a lot of comfort knowing that I know my band is better than another band. I could kinda hear the trumpets, but most of them were perpetually playing sharps and flats on normal notes and the syncing and air speed was consistently off. My band director gives us about 5-15 lessons on every topic so she knows we know how to play stuff like that. I'm proud of that. The thing I'm more proud of is how we can play songs that can go hard. I am most proud of how we are in the top 5 most accurate bands in our district.

This is a list of all the errors made: The clarinetists didn't know how to move from E to A, which is because they didn't learn. The brass was struggling to keep up, because they didn't know how to position the instruments and their mouths to get the best sound immediately. The percussion didn't know how their part fit in, so they were just following their own tempo which marked on the page, as shown by how they were synchronized with each other, but not the band. You couldn't hear the flutes AT ALL, because they didn't know how to make their best sound. The whole piece sounded like the band had no clue what melody and harmony were, and didn't know how to make it work. Also, they didn't know what dynamic marks were, by the sound of it. Basically, the band director is absolutely terrible at his/her job. I don't know if it was a boy or a girl, because I didn't wanna have to hear even a little bit of that again.

To be fair it is rare for an elementary school to have a band, usually band doesn't even start until middle school.
