I think Relentless is a great name for your Cormorant, it sure fits him. We had a Black-Crowned Night Heron hang out with us on vacation. We dubbed him Mr. Fishybits. Once in a while we would throw him a shrimp. He snatched up a small fish my husband was going to toss back and had dropped by accident. He was pretty funny because every time we would throw a fish back he would crane his neck looking to see where the fish landed. It was pretty amusing. I am glad you had a nice catch and you got in before the storm. It is fun to catch fish one right after another. I am looking forward to seeing more of your adventures.

Love your videos J.C I watch all of them and you have been the most influential as well as favorite youtube channel for saltwater. I noticed you said you were using a mirror lure. Im assuming you speak of a type of Mirror o lure. Funny story when I was on vacation last year I was trying to find bait on my way to the pier. Mirror "O" Lure was recommended on my gps. Little to my knowledge it was the actual factory not a tackle store. I walked in asking if I was in the right place because it was an office/warehouse setting. The ladies giggled and said this happens frequently. I was feeling a little embarrassed and was seeing myself out when the kind ladies in office said they could get me some tackle directly if id like. Sent for an awesome gentlemen from the back, sorry I can't recall his name. Who proceeded to give my friend and I a tour of the entire factory and its works. All the while letting me pilfer through stock. I ended up buying a ton of products from them as well as getting free swag on the way out. Long story short Mirror"o"lure is an awesome small business ill support forever.

Heck yeah my man! I do too love when the Mangs are chunky with no measure required. I just got back from the Keys and got limited out with 15" as my smallest and 19" as my biggest all on frozen bought Ballyhoo. I used shrimp as well but dinks were tearing them up. Once I switched to Ballyhoo...that was it! My trick is the leader needs to be very long like about 3 to 4ft from the weight to the hook using a 1/4oz split shot or depending on current. The bigger sized Snappers are very smart and finicky, and with clear water I go down to 15lb mono...no braid as mainline due to the structure.

thanks for the idea. I don't have any place to store the trailer. The apartment complex I live in doesn't have a storage area. I'm not gonna pay at a storage facility. Already had one kayak stolen from a place like that. If I get a change in lifestyle and move into a house I will certainly consider getting a trailer.

I'm over on Space Coast you look like you're on the west coast of Florida they raise the mangroves up from 10 in to 12 in I believe you can keep up to 10 they got to be 12 inches long you got a really search the web cuz they give you a different length I got that little green Zebco hot cast I bought the forefooter for $4.50 the tip broke off I took it back to Walmart they didn't have one so they gave me the 6-footer which they were selling for $5.95 I fish at the beach a lot I go surf fishing and I've got a Shimano reel on that little Zebco rod with 6 lb test but I tie a carat knot and put about 8 to 10 ft a 50 lb leader on and I hung and landed a 40 lb tarpon on that little baby that little Zebco rod and that Shimano real it took me about 25 minutes and I'm older and my knees hurt and there's young guys went down and grabbed my tarpon and I've got my other Rod my 9-ft beach rod surf rod and he couldn't believe you caught it on that little thing you landed it on that little Rod unbelievable he was just freaking out and couldn't believe it I was only using 6 lb test on my real but you know you set your drag loose and there was over 200 yards of 6 lb line on there he spool me twice and like I say it was 25 minutes roughly to get the Tarpon landed that's the biggest fish so far on that little rod caught a 2 ft bull shark on it and a nice 19 inch Long Trout caught a two and a half pound Pompano and some big 1 lb Whiting with it too right in the trough there right off of the sand you know right there 20 ft out anyway congratulations on your mangrove and keep on fishing and don't forget take a kid fishing with you get them hooked on fishing

Sigh the disappointment I feel when I see fishermen who don't try to give fish they aren't going to keep every chance to survive. Don't feed the birds man they are perfectly able to feed themselves. Thats just bad fishing right there. Other then that It was a great video but PLEASE give the fish a chance. Its rare to see an older more experienced fisherman waste a fish like that and not give it a chance to grow and get big.
@foehammer002 жыл бұрын
The ones who feed fish to the dolphins are much worse. You expect to see that from tourist but local fisherman tend " not always" to take care of their fisheries. Was a awesome video with some nice action....yes i'm a little jelly my trip out for mangroves ended up with 1 keeper and like 50 lookdowns but that was kind of a callous waste of a fish. Hopefully JC doesn't make a habit of that.. That spot is a honey hole. Well he has like 20 honey holes and has lost some Monsters to structure. Keep the videos coming.
@RadReelingFishing2 жыл бұрын
Back off, it wasn't intentional. Don't act like you're the high and mighty fisherman who never makes a mistake when he's on the water. I'm confident you're the guy that drops fish on top of their heads on the concrete or in the bottom of the boat and they probably die from having a concussion. if you're not that guy, you're probably the other guy that drops his fish in the sand or drags his fish up onto the beach in the sand removing the slime coating from the fish which can also cause them to die. Really? even better yet, you possibly could be the guy that keeps his fish out of the water for five minutes so that he can try and get enough pictures to post on his Instagram or Facebook. yep, just like humans need to breathe air, fish need to be kept in the water. Thanks for watching and commenting.
@8-bitco-op8972 жыл бұрын
I'm none of them truth be told. Bird was there ....saw where the bird was and threw the fish right at the bird. I tend to throw my back AWAY from where the birds are so I don't make that mistake. I don't tend to take a lot of pictures of fish unless I plan on keeping them. When releasing fish I revive them until they kick off on their own power and if you fish in Florida you deal with slime. So calm down a bit i'm just going off what I saw in the video you made a comment about the bird and saw it chase your fish and it did look to me like you threw the fish to the bird. I could be wrong but that's what it looked like to me. Yes everyone makes mistakes and I have had fish I didn't take care of properly die but it was due to me not being prepared not something I had intentionally did. Again I made my comment purely off of what I saw and heard in the video. I have watched many of your videos and as far as I can recall that was the first time I saw you do something like that.
@foehammer002 жыл бұрын
@@RadReelingFishing Love your videos, the content is great, your a florida fisher thats always a plus in my book but......it kinda did look like that in the video. Not trying to cause any strife or anything and sill gonna keep watching and liking your videos it just....yeah. At any rate can you have someone send some shrimp to the panhandle area because NO ONE around here has any or the second they get some they gone in less then an hour.

@@RadReelingFishing Get a cast net and get some alewifes if theres no shrimp. I like to see how he would do with some of them on. I know he fishes where boats are tied up alot and I have learned that if the bait fish swims against one the the tie lies that insta snag and thats your whole rig gone. But if hes got a line on shrimp thats the best way to go. Alewifes in a great second go to bait but you have to put in work to get them.
