As a native, doing exactly this is one of my favorite things to do. Favorite food: anything I just caught. Snapper, grouper, pompano or snook if you're lucky

I was using a 50lb FC leader today pier fishing in St Petersburg for snook but ended up catching tons of snapper lol only 2 keepers plus a bonus 18" drum! Great videos bro just started watching them a few days ago when they first started showing up.

Try using a lighter leader especially In clearer water. I like 30lb, but that’s just my input. Good luck and tight lines

I wanted to jump into this vid...although I'm up in Maryland. Those were some awesome catches and I would have kept ALL of the legally- sized catches as my fridge is 'DEVOID' of any recently-caught Gulf Coast (Florida) fish!! Maybe ask a local bait shop when you get there. Areas are usually different. I know a pompano jig works pretty good. A silver or gold spoon, or a Yozuri 3rd prism lure

Wheedon Island preserve in st Pete is a nice spot for kayaks, can be lots of snook and sheepshead on the higher tides
