Mangs FE6 patch final boss

Decided to grind at one of the arena's mid game to get about 140k or so gold to get Lilina to sage and start spamming heal to get her staff rank up and some statups for characters to prepare for an "Untested" endgame and used the stat ups for mostly boots, dragonshields, angelic robes and about 2 of all the other ones. My main benefactor was Lilina since she has the highest magic cap of 30 and Cecilia to help with extra staves. No idea if Geese had some stat growths but he was unusually blessed with speed so for once I had an Armad user.

I would like to point out something here. There are ways to cheese several parts of this map. Boots and warp skip is pretty easy to do, but there are other things that make this significantly easier then thought. FE6 has some tiles which restore status effects at the start of turn. Thrones do this, but so does the red carpet around Zephiel, and all non-stair tiles in this map. This can make the status staves a non-factor, while status staves of your own can make it all too easy.

The final chapter of vanilla FE6 was also piss easy. And all of the mooks could be easily ignored.

Ahh, so this is the final level in Mang's balance patch. Seems pretty difficult if you're not prepared for it, but otherwise a reasonable challenge. Much better than Vanilla FE6 where the chapter seems intentionally easy.

the biggest annoyance is using quite alot of resources in Jahn's chapter and the sheer amount of female druids that berserk you. You are getting 2 of them in every room although some have eclipse but its still going to tax your inventory. Since its FE6 you don't get to change the loadout (unless im dumb and its mangs patch) and have to make due with what you have on you.

And do you know the dumbest part about Idunn in vanilla FE6? She's EASIER on HARD MODE than she is on NORMAL MODE. And if you're wondering how, it's because on hard mode, you get stat bonuses for already great characters like Rutger, Fir, Gonzales, Perceval, and lots of other characters that are relevant in both difficulties, but you DON'T get bonus stats for them on normal, and the only difference between normal mode Idunn and hard mode Idunn is that she gets 1 extra point of HP. Yeah, that's IT, one fucking point, and to HP of all things.

Haha thanks. I have played FE since the mid 2000s so I find it fun to try and push myself and to a certain degree I do find hard mode FE6 hard as hell. Its usually front loaded but knowing mangs I wanted to be sure I had a way to deal with endgame shit so I grinded gold for stat boosts. He did overbuff a few units like Fir which at least for the run I did was stupidly broken. Having her at level 16-17 with almost every stat besides hp/def/res being capped and still being decently tanky at that point was pretty crazy. I still think the manakete buffs were a bit to much because that extra range just makes them a hassle since trying to chip them with your bow users/casters is usually in danger of being one shot.

I think giving idunn so much speed a swordmaster couldn't double was a bad move,espicially considering roy landing the final blow is a requirement for the best best ending.

I mean to be fair Fir gets weighed down considerably with that weapon so it does make sense. The main reason I gave it to her was because I felt she would do more with it then say Dieck, and Rutger just got kinda rng screwed mostly this playthrough.

Arcadia I had a freshly promoted tate and Miledy with some thieves to get the treasures I could. the extra attack range of the dragons was the biggest issue since it made maneuvering around them much more difficult. Had my army go north and try to blitzkrieg when I could to end the chapter sooner rather than later.

@Narsh Maybe i should brought the horses unit, i relying too much on Rutger while also getting the treasure... Most my unit got bonk so hard by the wyvern and this is not even the manakate yet...

@@abrahamwijaya6631 Yeah that level on hard is notorious already since if your to slow the bandit bosses that come can kill anyone you left behind. I always try to have 2 fliers for that level and thankfully getting Melady the chapter before is a HUGE boon. Play it right and even without using the arena in that chapter you can get her to level 20 by last hitting the paladins and other calvery then promote her, the other flier I would usually say is preference because rng and levels and all that can be a huge difference in how they perform. Once you learn the locations of the manaketes though you should be fine as long as your tankier units or someone with good dodge that isn't a sword wielder. I cant remember if you have a lance reaver by then but outside of that rutgir and fir are hard to use, Dieck can be promoted by then and have an iron axe which usually is enough to hold them at bay. Its sadly one of the levels you should have a separate save file beforehand for the previous chapter since you might need to arena abuse.

@Narsh Thanks bro, but the thing is dieck is very fragile in my run. He is like 3 hit and died no matter what weapon he used either light or heavy weapon, that's why i used Rutger because my Rutger has speed that almost Dodge any thing even with clarine support he is fast as fukboi. About milady is the same as dieck, she is also fragile in my run... Maybe i will try Rerun my previous stage to make her better.

man this looks fun and challenging but there being 2 berserk staff users seems very annoying. if you get unlucky like I usually do with berserk staves, both of your staff users could be berserked and then you just lose.

I know there technically isnt anything making it so you only can have 2 staff users for this map but I find it unlikely that you will have 3 good restore users without an extreme amount of staff grinding

So I recently came across Mangs' video where he announced and described the patch. I'm considering downloading it, but I remember him saying that he didn't take too much time testing the final chapter. What EXACTLY did he change about it though? Did he make Idunn's stats stronger? Or was it just the units around her?

He made her stronger and every single other human based enemy is new. It was originally just her and a few dragons I want to say. You can usually kill her in 1 turn and at that 2 round her. One person to get her low and roy can usually deal half to 2 thirds of her life. (Roy needs to beat her with the special sword for the games good ending)
