The secret is to know how the AI plays and use this. The AI in Wc2 clearly struggles with capsuled bases and does not know how to coordinate their resources. He takes advantage of this. There was slight pressure on his main base with the catapuls and balistas, but besides that the AI literally sacrificied all units without plan. What I never did and enjoyed was how he eliminated basically one enemy with one death knight. Smart move.

There are plenty of games with graphics like WC2 that you can't tell what's going on. The more detailed graphics are the easier it is to convey information, but it's not a sure-fire thing. You can make things too busy, too dark, or just poorly designed, regardless of the quality of the graphics engine. HCI is important and crisp, clean, easy-to-identify models/sprites/icons are key for a game like this.

I hesitate to call it a fact, but I distinctly recall being able to get the dragons/griffon riders to hit themselves with their own projectile. Usually happens when they target Knights or other fast moving enemies, as their targeting doesn't tell them not to drop their attack on themselves. It basically requires the defending player to ensure the target of the dragon needs to be directly under the dragon AND moving away as the projectile is thrown, thus causing the projectile to collide with the attacking dragon.
@ed_gorod2 жыл бұрын
dragons cannot attack self
@morgrimgaming73422 жыл бұрын
@@ed_gorod Technically, you're correct. However, given how their attack does damage in a line and counts as a separate entity in the code from the dragon itself, it CAN damage the dragon on its flight path towards the target it was launched at. Once the projectile leaves the dragon, it damages everything in its path of travel. This can include the very dragon who launched it.

It's kind of outrageous that winning a 1 vs 7 only gets you the rank of Captain. If you took this performance, and repeated it exactly four more times, you'd *still* not get the max rank of Designer. I'm not sure if there's even enough resources on normal maps to farm out to that score either! You'd either have to try and farm enemy Fortresses/Castles by butchering the CPU and then backing off so they can rebuild, or play on big naval maps and sink tons of Battleships/Juggernauts for their juicy points.
@StuGames2 жыл бұрын
Yeah it's pretty ridiculous! You could probably do it if you edited the map to max out all of the gold mines. Maybe the system was designed more for the campaign where I believe the score is cumulative. I think I got to Overlord in the Orc BTDP campaign.
