It is pretty simple. They are alleging the hush money payments were recorded as a legal expense in an effort to cover up an illegal campaign contribution. Trump has many options when it comes to his defense but to act like there is no evidence against him is disingenuous. Ultimately, the legality of his actions will be decided by a random selection of citizen who live in lower Manhattan.
